Oh my god, that was great. I was wondering how they were going to cover The Last Jedi once they actually got around to it, and this didn't disappoint at all!

Favourite bit was them explaining Luke's character motivation: "He's turned his back on the franchise after watching the prequels, and not even reruns of A New Hope can change his mind!" LMAO. It was so delightfully meta.

I'm a huge Screen Junkies fan, been following them for almost 4 years now. Because of this, I watch their other videos on both their YT channels and know how misinformed they are about Rian throwing out TFA and JJ's ideas, there being no plan, JJ going to do whatever he wants now, LF making things up for the novel for damage control etc. I complained a few days ago that I left a very long comment a video that said these things, and it was them I was referring to. I was afraid to watch the Honest Trailer for this but you guys convinced me and it was great.

Having said that, I'm still a little wary to watch their Honest Trailer Commentary on their other channel, because you get their very unfiltered thoughts about the movie. And wow, it's 35 minutes this week, decidedly longer than usual.

I watched their non-spoiler review when TLJ came out and they were positive about it. The blonde girl said it was a beautifully crafted film etc.

Yeah, I saw that too. The blonde lady is Roth, the head of their other channel. And I saw her try to bring up a couple of times how into his feelings Kylo is, and the sexual tension between Rey and Kylo. But she's surrounded by a bunch of dudes who didn't even register that at all. She thought the rest of the film kind of distracted from the fascinating core relationship of the movie. Don't know if she's a Reylo now, but I think she would totally be open to it when it happens.

She and the other guy, Dan, do all the reviews and box office show together. As time went on though, Dan in particular, who is generally great but also kind of the skeptic/cynic in residence, says he has no clue what LF is doing, and just the whole crew on their morning show thinking JJ and Rian are not even on the same plane as the other. Ugh.

But they all don't pay super close attention to SW since Rian said to avoid marketing last summer. None of them hate TLJ, most of those in their studio love it, but they are all so weirdly nihilistic when it comes to how these movies are made. Like, they think Rey was supposed to have some important lineage or be whatever chosen one based on TFA. None are fanboys. IX is going to be hard on so many people, but I'm completely down for that.

Its funny even when I watched TLJ, it was only the girls amongst my friends who noticed the steamy sexual tension. I think you have to be a certain type of "man" to notice these things

I hope she continues to be a Reylo! Yeh i wasn't fond of Dan's opinion, he seems like the type to believe silly clickbaity articles!

The weird thing is he's not like that at all, and he's actually the smartest one over at SJ and knows how to research. Except with SW, which he started avoiding. He's just generally cynical and likes a consistent story with an actual plan, and LF has been super vague about it thus far. Can Rian please stop saying he did whatever he wanted?

They think that IX will be some all new adventure, and Dan thinks these films are coming off like standalones. TLJ was so focused on subverting expectations I get why people think Rian just wanted to be different just because, or troll the audience or whatever.

@IoJovi - the marketing department at Lucasfilm really should do a tie-in with the Olive Garden instead of Denny's for the ST because Rey absolutely would be all over the endless bowls of pasta.

ETA - they could've had Luke yelling at her about how "you opened yourself up to the Darkside for an endless bowl of pasta!"

I also love how the use the one musical intro in the beginning. f****ing genius stuff.
