Well, now... I must say Krennic is quite different from what I expected. In a good way, too.

Yes, but just a little bad and volatile already

Re: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel
I'm still pretty convinced Krennic won't make it out of Rogue One alive. It seems like we are getting quite a bit of back story in Catalyst with Galen and Orson's relationship stretching over many years. I could be wrong but as we know the events surrounding the Death Star from A New Hope, it seems unlikely that Krennic could survive failure on that scale.
I'm intrigued enough by him and the Ersos to want to read Catalyst no matter what happens in Rogue One.

Yes, I think Pablo Hidalgo already confirmed that Jyn would be in her early 20s in Rogue One. Felicity Jones has a youthful look so I think she can pass for that no problem.

Felicity can easily play someone significantly younger, but I'm actually a bit surprised by this info because they don't seem to have done anything to make her look younger in RO. In fact, in some of the clips the lighting and make-up make her look more mature than she normally does.

Re: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel
All right , just skimmed the book... @panki is correct it is
Krennic is 30, at the beginning of the novel, the book is well written, Lyra is a great character. For Geeks it is all there, Tarkin, Palps & Darth, Clones, Krystals etc...
- Lyra who is force sensitive, she is the best character in the book, which makes me side eye LF as to why she is not in R1?:

So Pablo wasn't far wrong on Krennic's age, then. If the story starts in the Clone Wars era, he'll only be a few years younger than Obi-Wan at the time of Rogue One/ANH.
I'm looking forward to reading Catalyst. I've been watching The Clone Wars so it's good to have something from that era and in between.

Re: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel
So, overall confusion around SW new era countinues:
Harloff: Guys, somebody in Catalyst is FS, but I can't tell you
Pablo: It's not exactly like that (or whatever)
ME: WTF!?

Re: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel
Thanks for posting those synopses and reviews guys! I'm definitely going to read this book before I see RO this December.
- Spoiler:
- I found it very interesting that Lyra Erso is a worshipper of the Force. Based on the trailer and Lyra telling young Jyn to "trust the Force" I thought it was likely Lyra would either be FS or a Force worshipper. I wonder what Jyn and Galen think of the Force...

Re: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel
I finished reading the book yesterday, so here are a few thoughts:
- Spoiler:
- - Galen is an absolute dweeb of a pacifist, and I feel EXTREMELY sorry for him in advance.
- I agree with the above, Lyra is hands down the best character in the book, and I'm led to believe Jyn takes a lot from her mom. I can't help but feel that the reason why we got so much of her in the novel is because she might die very early in the movie... (still kinda hoping for that theory that she got frozen into carbonite, though...)
- I remember @panki mentioning Krennic as a megalomaniac, and at the end of this, I totally agree. No wonder Tarkin and Vader don't like him very much. He makes an interesting villain, and thankfully pretty different of all the others we've seen until now in the GFFA.
- Saw is an extremist, but he's a hella nice extremist.
- Really nice lore about kyber crystals. We got some in the Ahsoka novel as well, so I'm wondering if the trilogy itself is not going to focus a lot on them.
- All I can say is that when Krennic will find the Ersos again, it won't be pretty FOR SURE.
Re: Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel
Hi all, I'm just wondering.. if anyone who has read this book sees this - would you say this book is worth purchasing and reading? What's your opinion? I"m thinking about buying it.. and would love to hear your thoughts!
