It definitely doesn't sound like Kylo being ripped wide open, or being one half of the protagonist, the way Rian Johnson has so nicely put it.

@ioJovi I don't think that books know the order of scenes. They get images and write whatever. It's a stupid sticker book. They have no clue.

Maybe Kylo is supposed to interrogate Rey again?

I know it's just a fun children's book, but that paragraph is kind of nuts, "Kylo wants to destroy the Resistance, but his Mom won't let him!" The only place you typically can go in a story like that is Leia sends him to his room without supper and eventually he feels bad for being a jerk to his mom and apologizes/hugs her."

One thing I would like about the Space Hamlet monologue, especially if it's about liberty, would be that it isn't redeemed Kylo - it's maximum Kylo.

Hopefully we'll find out! Though my personal enjoyment of the character would go in the toilet if he turned out to be the Star Wars version of the guy who's read Ayn Rand and then never shuts up about it. He may or may not get redeemed if that were the case, definitely not getting laid.

We need a "Where the Wild Things Are" picture book of this story.  

@Lily Snape We don't need one of those here either. At least so far, it feels like Hux fills the role of dead-eyed idealogue. I'm guessing that Kylo will be more like Space Hamlet thanks to Luke saddling him with the whole Chosen One business. And yes, the last page should be, "and it was still hot." Though not until Kylo apologizes to his mom.

yeah, I would also put it a bit later in the movie.

I think "Emo Kylo Ren" even has Hux talking about Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead or something.  Kylo has some prattle about order in the TFA novelization, but I think, as Pablo Hidalgo said, he's a spiritualist and Hux is a technocrat, and order is probably not really that important to him.  I think he's Space Hamlet, as you said, in so many ways, the uncertainty being the big one.  The very characteristic that made Hamlet the most modern of Shakespeare's characters makes Kylo an unusual, modern villain.

@Lily Snape - Having been a debate/student government nerd in school (the source of my cracks about Padme reminding me of a high school student council president), Hux is very much that guy. Which unfortunately a lot those guys never actually got beyond whatever mindset they had at that age and are now using it to dictate policy. Kylo/Ben is different, just as lost and having bought into a cause. But he's uncertain, which makes him very distinct from Hux and Phasma.

That sticker book, though! I found the source ya'll pulled it from and it's about Leia as a heroic leader. Which would've been awesome to have as a kid because she was my favorite. But it's going to be like Leia and the very bad no good horrible day because you have her kid going against her - no wonder Carrie called him an a**hole! And who knows if her buddy Holdo ends up trying to stab her in the back, which means the only actual female friendship they've ever shown is Leia and Rey, who's now stuck trying to drag Leia's worthless hippie brother back. Maybe the title of the sticker book should be Your Mom Has Been Trying to Hold this Goddamn Galaxy Together for Decades Now, Like Maybe Show Her a Little Respect and Stop Being a Darkside Jerk.

So based on those images^^ and the one of Kylo on page 28, I'm assuming these scenes are somewhere in the middle of the film. Where exactly is that picture from? Very interesting that they would be still referring to Kylo as wanting to destroy the Resistance. So that means something towards the end of the movie is gonna make him snap and do the "unexpected." All of these teasers are starting to make my brain hurt o.O There's SO many possibilities...

I think the pic on Page 28 is a view of Rey leaving for Ahch-To from behind... (You can read 'brother's help' & 'friend Rey')

Soooo the ultimate question, if the text is referring to past tense, what's on page 30???

Sticker book has no clue about the order of scenes. They just get images and prepared text or something.

I'm not sure how spoilerific Pablo Hidalgo's TLJ Visual Guide will be but it's out there in the hands of translators so there might be a chance of leaks from that.

Yeah, he seems to keep things pretty vague... the TFA one for instance had hints re: Kylo's heritage but never straight out said whose kid he was.
