ARCHIVE: Star Wars Celebration London 2016 and Orlando 2017 - 1

This year the Star Wars Celebration takes place in London, July 15-17. Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are announced as special guests and also Kathleen Kennedy, Gareth Edwards and Dave Filloni.
I think Rogue One will be more in focus this year, but maybe we are lucky and they show a teaser of Ep 8?
Hopefully, one of us will be there and can provide us with news and more information .

Next year the Celebration will be in Orlando (April 13-17). If everything goes as planned, my husband and me will be there. It would be really fun to meet some of you, so is there anyone else is going?
Since they had a TFA-panel last year in Anaheim (with DR, OI, JB, MH, CF and JJ) I really hope for something like that for Ep. 8 next year.

I just posted in the podcast discussion but have bought tickets to go on the Sunday with my sisters. Which is the last day so anything exclusive will probably have already made it into the public domain, but hopefully it will still be a great time!

Maybe you're lucky and they will have a panel with Mark and Carrie . But I haven't found detailed information about the special events so far.

@Echobase I was very surprised to see there were even tickets still available, only bought them a couple of days ago. It doesn't look like they have info about what will be going on each of the days, maybe a schedule comes out closer to the time. I will be completely freaking out if I see Carrie Fisher!

If Mark and Carrie attend than maybe some VIII exclusive drops. That isn't just that stupid Two Storm Princes skit.

Also, Orlando poster is VIII and Rogue One.

I'm thinking of attending the April 2017 Celebration in Orlando. It feels so far away, but I know time will fly (at least I hope it does).

At any rate, I'm planning to go to Disney some time this year to see Kylo.

We are only five short hours from Disney World. I might have to go.

orlando 2017 is going to be super VIII themed. As the matter of fact, Disney might come to SDCC in July 2017 with VIII too. Any takers for that?

I'm going to respond as someone who lived in San Diego for many years but never attended SDCC.

Over the past 5-10 years, SDCC tickets have become insanely difficult to get. Anyone I know who manages to get them typically has to camp out on their computer hitting "refresh" a bunch of times to hope to get tickets. I don't recall the tickets themselves being as insanely expensive as you're saying, but I imagine that they're probably pretty pricey on the resale market if you had to go that route.

If you don't have a friend in San Diego whose sofa you can crash on, hotels book up insanely early and go for insane rates during ComicCon. I've also heard reports of people having trouble getting car rentals.

Generally, as a former local, I did everything in my power to avoid going downtown while ComicCon was happening. If crowds and doing a lot of waiting around aren't your thing, you probably wouldn't enjoy it.

The poster was created for the Celebration in London this year. Since Kylo, Rey and Luke are on this poster as well, we surely can hope for bits of Ep 8.

yeah, Luke's inclusion and the fact that they obviously grouped Kylo, Luke and Rey hints at VIII big time.

OMG! I actually had no idea that the Europe one was in London! It just didn't occur to me! *facepalm* sheesh I would've bought a ticket if I'd known! I'm so stupid!!!

Preshow is when you order online and buy it now. Onsite tickets are the ones which you can purchase once you get there.

Does anyone know if these prints will only be available at the Celebration event or will they be available online as well? I can't go to London Celebration, but I really want a print of the Kylo carrying Rey artwork. I'm also digging the Mos Eisley one.

I would love it if they were available online. I have a ton of frequent flyer miles I could use, but I'm sure they'll be sold out by Sunday. I think they were only making a set amount? It would be crazy to fly to London just for the Art Show. I love all of the art they picked.

Yeah, it would be crazy, but I am really thinking about getting there just for the Friday, arrive in the morning and take a flight back in the evening. My husband wants to have the limited Funko Pops which are celebration exclusive, so he's crazy as well. Depends on if I get a day off.
