Casting Call: Kyla Ren

Imagine if Kylo/Ben had been conceptualized as female. (Let's be honest, everyone would have walked out of the theatre knowing the ST was set for its first lesbian romance. Reyla would be the stuff of fanboy dreams.) Who would you cast and why?

My picks have a similar bone structure, coloring, and a sultry but sensitive villainess look to them.

I saw people using Krysten Ritter once. I don't think she's a bad choice, myself.

Krysten is 5'9", so nice and tall too.

I'd add on Rooney Mara with Eva Green and Krysten Ritter.  Eva Green was actually my first thought.

Eva Green certainly has that haunted (and haunting) intensity - and slightly unconventional looks, but still beautiful, like Adam.

The funny thing is, those two pics aren't that far apart, considering how made up he is in the original pic.

She's definitely too old to play a 30ish character now (not that she doesn't look great, but I believe she's in her 50's), but I think Helena Bonham Carter could have been a great creepy, sexy, vulnerable Han and Leia child at one point.

Wow! I can see that. :-)

You know what else I see ... if they actually were to recast Leia, HBC might actually be able to play the part. I never thought of her because I associate her pretty heavily with more "Tim Burton" or Bellatrix kind of roles, but she did rock in The King's Speech playing a very traditional character. She's petite, feisty and a hell of a good actress who can do an American accent easily. She even has Carrie's round face. They might need to age her a bit to be on par with Luke, but damn, they made Winona Ryder Zachary Quinto's mother and there was much less of an age gap there I think. HBC could actually be Adam Driver's very teenage mother.

I didn't have a particular age of actress in mind. These could be from any era. Vivien Leigh would be great for her resting b**** face alone. Imagine unmasking for Rey like this:

HBC is a great call. At 50, she's 21 years older than Kylo (who we all know is a few years younger than Adam), and Leia was supposedly 23-24 when she had Ben, so the ages work out pretty well. Granted, she's 10 years younger than Carrie, but that's not a huge gap for makeup and hairstyling/coloring.

Yes! Rooney indeed! I am still bummed about her having to drop out of Annette. Talk about a great onscreen couple, she and Adam Driver.

I think Krysten Ritter would be great. Also, I would add Eliza Dushku, she was great as Faith in Buffy. The role of Faith was quite Kylo-esque too.
