Re: Star Wars Battlefront
I wonder what it is that spoilery EA and LF agreed to and include it in regards to Kylo's character.
Kylo truly sounds awful. There is no one better than Adam and I am so addicted to his mesmerizing voice.
- Spoiler:
- "Is it that he's killing Imperial Troops as soon to be a turncoat in the movies or that he met Inferno Squad on Pillio and searching for the map to Skywalker? Also Luke and that compass

I am crying right now. Did I understand correctly that
- Spoiler:
Del Meeko dies? D*** Gideon! Or was it Kylo who killed him Makes more sense if it is Gideon. That guy really turned a cold-blooded killer, which was quite clear in the book, but in the game, it looks like it even went up a notch.
- Spoiler:
My heart broke when I read that Del died ....I loved his character in the book...fortunately from what I read it was Gideon who killed him (Kylo just did the mind probe and torture) and had his body planted on a ship for Iden to find. Del and Iden have a daughter as well named after Iden's Mum. I wonder if she works for the resistance and whether we'll see her sometime.
- spoiler:
- I saw some tumblr posts where people are saying that is Rey's family. How old is their daughter by the battle of Jakku? Rey is born 10 years after that.
I am not surprised about Gideon.

- If they are, and I don't think so, because for SW game to reveal it would be a bit weird from LF. Kylo was responsible in a way for Del Mekko's death. He left him for Gideon on Pillio to be executed.
- Spoiler:
- The most interesting aspects was truly that compass Luke found in Emperor's vault or observatory on Pillio.

- Spoiler:
- I won't completely discount the possibility that Rey is related to Iden and Del since we know they have a daughter and we have yet to see this daughter in the story. Also Iden's planet Vardos was attacked as part of Operation Cinder and the planet Pillio where Luke's  weird compass was found was in the same system as Vardos. Its also an aquatic planet which could link to Rey's dreams of water and islands (if she isn't dreaming of Ahch-to).
Except for the Skywalkers, the stories of most character's parents are explored in other media (Snap being the son of Norra Wexley, Kor Sella being the daughter of Sondeiv Sella, Lyra Erso as the mother of Jyn and Kes Dameron and Shara Bey being the parents of Poe). Technically even Bail and Breha's, and Owen and Beru's story is explored in novels and comics and not a movie.
While Rey's lineage has become a big deal for the audience, given the paucity of time in the movies, its unlikely they're giving us an elaborate backstory in the film. We'll probably get some tiny flashback or a character telling her- your parents were sith/jedi/church of the force/spacers/spice smugglers/gungans/hutts and they loved you etc.
That being said, I personally hope for more mystical origins for Rey.
I got the game early this morning and have started playing....its amazing!

Fondor kicked husband's butt. He's a great urban fighter, but a terrible flyer. I am useful on the lore, less on actual gaming reflexes, lol.

We're facing the same situation here....I could fly decently through the space debris and navigate around the destroyers nicely but once the space battle started, I kept dying...lol. My husband is definitely better with the battles, especially since he plays a lot of first person shooter games....so now I've roped him in to help me with the game.

It doesn’t come out here until the 17th. How are you playing this ahead of time?

I pre-booked the Elite Trooper edition which was released on the 14th...maybe @SoloSideCousin booked the same?

Okay that makes sense now. I’m just doing it the old fashioned way, and buying the game at GameStop down the road from me the day it comes out...

Husband got through the storyline end of the campaign. We have not done the 14-20, finding items chapters yet. I don't know how much will be revealed there or not. But whenever people get there, please chime in. I saw some interesting stuff and want to talk about it.

We finished the campaign
- Spoiler:
- Luke's compass has me really intrigued!!
Re: Star Wars Battlefront
I'm playing it a little slow since I like exploring where I can....reached Jakku so should be done tomorrow....a lot of things intrigue me at the moment but the thing I really want to know is...what is the deal with the lovely Shrine? I really wanted to take a screenshot of it and figure out the letters. Also am curious about the compass- have some theories about it.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront
I expected no less from EA but I think it's disgusting that they force players to pay for hero characters like Vader. And to make things even more ridiculous, they attempt to fool their own customers - reducing the price, while also reducing the ingame rewards. Smh.

YES! The shrine!!!!!! That whole sequence was great and poignant given what happens, but I did want more time with the shrine too.
I need to get off my phone for more, but the compass bit was really interesting too ... in how it specifically said that the stuff there was dangerous, yet Luke was "called." Also, the "something better" remark was super interesting.

Is it true that in multiplayer, if Kylo and Rey are on the battlefield, that one of Rey's lines is "Kylo Ren...you know this is wrong"? I saw that line floating around on Tumblr. Because if so, gee wow.

They do converse a lot but whenever I play Kylo he must be pretty shy all I've ever gotten out of him was him saying "Rey..." yesterday

Re: Star Wars Battlefront
So I finished the campaign on my account yesterday and I noticed a whole lot more than I did when I was watching my son play it. Probably because I wasn't as engrossed in staring at Kylo but there were a couple things I noticed
- Spoiler:
- while Kylo is interrogating Del he mentions something about his daughter. Did Del and Iden have a daughter after Jakku?? And also how much emphasis was put on Iden being drawn back out after Del's death. I wonder how and when this part of the story will be continued
Re: Star Wars Battlefront
Andi and Anthony got to play real life Battlefront with Iden and Del. Lucky them.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront
There is a possible Battlefront 2 and SW Rebels connection....
- Spoiler:
- Lothal is mentioned in the game....so looks like the planet has survived the events of SW Rebels and whatever battles were fought there....also, there is a passing mention of a purple wookie which is basically a reference to Zeb since his homeworld of Lasan is destroyed by the Empire and the only other two Lasat survivors left for their original home planet in Wild Space...so there is a good chance Zeb is alive post the battle of Endor.
