I didn't get a romantic vibe from Finn and Jannah at all, I really didn't realize that was the intent lol

Adam's pretty sensible, but like Kelly he's behaving like a gentleman.

My first sort of gut wrench watching TROS was that platonic shoulder slap Finn puts on Rose, clearly saying "There is no romance here". The only reason to put that in the movie, and it was an obvious intention, was to open up Finn for romance with Jannah. If I think about it, they totally de-sexualized Rose and created this totally hot character in Jannah for Finn to flirt around with.

It's totally gross. I loved the Finn/Rose kiss in TLJ. I don't love everything about TLJ, but that sequence, where you actually think Finn is going to die, and then bam, Rose saves him, then kisses him, that was fun, wonderful filmmaking imo. The more I think about it, the more disgusting that shoulder slap is. Finn and Rose could have been a couple, had a tender goodbye moment there, then later Finn could have flirted with Jannah, she could have made a move, and he could have rebuffed it sweetly - it would have shown Finn's loyalty, reinforced his hotness, gave Jannah some humanity, and would have been fun. I can't conceive of any artistic reason they did what they did other than some calculated corporate ploy. Or maybe J.J. and Terrio bro-ing out and thinking "Rose is boring, Finn needs a new hot girlfriend".

Kelly is lovely.
I think it would have been better if Jannah had been Finn's sister.

Naomi also said that Jannah and Lando are not related while VD indicated that they are. This is not even funny because she was saying that obviously not all black people should be related...

Yikes, I don’t understand the need to have Jannah as a love interest for Finn when Rose is right there. I had a feeling there was a possibility that they were trying to imply that Finn and Jannah were going to bond with the whole stormtrooper background, but I didn’t think they’d disregard Rose like that.

Well that’s just weird because the way she plays that final scene with Lando, it comes across as if there’s  something more going on...

This is all so amateurish, I mean at least agree on a common line to follow before saying anything, what a mess.

I honestly can't understand why they introduced new characters, then reduced the others parts.
I love REG, but he was simply copying Domhnall. We already had a stormtrooper in Finn, and why introduce Dominic Monaghan and erase Rose?
And where was Matt Smith.

yeah, it seems that new characters only copied the existing characters. jannah is an escaped storm trooper but female. pryde is a FO general but older. zorii is a spice runner like han but female and masked. Dominic Monaghan is...just JJ's friend like Snap Wexley (at least I know Snap's SW name which cannot be said for Dominic's lol).

The only reason is money. They introduced new characters so they would sell more action figures. These characters could be easily replaced by the already existed ones.

It did seem most of the new characters were intended as replacements for others, or to undo or prevent certain things. Which is a shame, because there's a lot of potential there, and the actors are mostly delightful. I remember there were conflicting reports from the leaks about who Jannah was or was not related to. When the VD and the actor can't even agree on who she's related to, yikes. And when you're supposed to be conveying romance and it's totally left out of the discourse until the actor says so because literally no one could tell, also yikes.

Maybe this explains why John is so upset. He essentially got teased with a different love interest in each movie (remember when he said both Finn and Rey had their eyes on other people?), but ended up with no one. On top of the supposedly FS Finn element that didn't really come through or get developed properly, and something about his past and origins that also didn't make it. But they kept "REEEEEY" 23 times, because that was apparently more important. I don't blame him for being unhappy with the movie, just his way of dealing with it by taking it out on others is harmful.

Given that Harrison was by his own admission phoning it in during ROTJ (actually most people except George and Mark seemed less than thrilled), and still happily came back for the ST twice, Adam could very well come back. Especially with how weirdly, unintentionally open ended TROS was.

It’s not confirmed anywhere [that Jannah is Lando's daughter]. I believe Lando sees something of his daughter in Jannah. She’s around the same age his daughter would be and shares a similar spark. This gives them an instant connection as a person who lost a kid and a person who didn’t have parents.

WTF? Why couldn't Lando feel connection with Finn? Stolen from parents like Lando's kid. Surely he could relate to a stolen boy and not just a stolen girl? Please stop talking people, please please this is so bad holy sith!

I don't even know how this is saving face. It's much worse. They created another Finn but female for the sole purpose of Lando's connecting with her instead of, you know, his connecting with Finn since Finn has exactly the same trajectory. I don't get it. What were they thinking? why would you create a middle(wo)man when you could just cut straight through to Finn? Not that he's so developed he could afford to have another character hijack his arc.

I feel bad for Naomi who is lovely. But yes, her character wasn't needed unless she was to be Finn's sister. Romance didn't come through on the screen at all cause he brushed her off at least twice to run after Rey or feel something about Rey. Whatever else they filmed was lost on the editing floor and what remained is not what she said it was intended to be.

One of my criticisms of the film was too many characters, and therefore few of them got their due.

I don't think it was deliberate, but the editing did end up kind of making it look like Finn chases Rey while Jannah chases Finn.

I don't think it was deliberate either. I think that they felt they needed some connection between Rey looking for Palpatine and Finn meeting escaped troopers and thought that if Finn (and Jannah) followed Rey to DS that would establish the connection. Instead, it came off differently. same goes for Finn sensing that Rey died. It was to establish connection between 2 sides of the story but appeared, again, that he was brushing off Jannah in favor of Rey. It happened that Jannah was present in both scenes and that it's always Finn calling for and chasing after Rey but never the other way around. I don't know how come no one involved in the production noticed that and pointed it out. They cannot be much different than audience which actually noticed this awkwardness. Same goes for Finn's unfinished quest to say something to Rey. Did they even watch their final cut? Everyone got hung up on that unresolved thread and everyone read it as that he wanted to declare his love for Rey. So why keep it in the movie if you won't show the payoff? Mess.

Ha-ha I thought it is going to be boring after the premiere but they just keep adding and making sith up as they go.

Funnily enough, I did see this coming and it should've been obvious for anyone involved. It's a terrible look for the brand. People's personal opinions on "Reylo" aside, the entire situation was absurd and it's unacceptable that a company allowed this to happen.

Agreed. That happened 2 weeks from movie release so totally unacceptable not to mention that he also posted a spoiler image that wasn't officially released.

So which one of those posters was the troll that got JB played?
