Discussion: Spoilers/Rumors (the "now it's permanent" spoilers thread)

As some of you may have noticed, the old Spoilers thread mysteriously disappeared from the forum in the past few hours.  The mod/admin team is actively investigating the issue to try to figure out what happened and see if we can recover the thread.

In the meantime, here's a placeholder thread for Spoiler talk. If we're able to recover the thread, we'll merge this thread into that one.

UPDATE (10-Jun): The previous spoilers thread was lost in a server gitch (per skyforum support). There's no easy/feasible way to recover the thread without losing a ton of posts in other threads, so this thread is now the permanent home for spoiler discussion.

I was thinking the same thing. If that's the "sea monster" that Rey supposedly fights as a Force trial or whatever, it doesn't exactly look very threatening when it's on land.

I'm trying to imagine how this thing fits into the story. It doesn't look all that threatening and there's a good point that a puppet that can't be very mobile probably isn't something Rey is going to fight. At this point it seems like half the Ahch-to plot will be Rey and Luke being friends to the animals.

That's what I was thinking!!! I know with marketing they're pushing Rey and Luke together to the max (probably to fuel Reywalker speculation, but I digress), but I don't disagree with @ZioRen that it seems Rey and Luke will be hanging out with fluffy little aliens and porgs the whole time. I'm sure the actual film will give us something far better, and who knows, maybe a stranded Kylo on Ach-To saves Rey from this wretched porpoise looking thing...

Yup, I've actually gotten far enough into Rebels to have seen that. That's an Inquisitor (a non-Sith dark side user).

Now I'm super super curious about the context of these apparently three new (or at least new to the movies) lightsaber designs that we'll be seeing... And I am definitely NOT normally a lightsaber geek type of a person.

There's also a slight possibility that lightsabers toys are Rebel's merch and they're just listed as EP 8 merch by mistake.

I can't think of any other new lightsaber user in EP8 besides Rey, Kylo, Luke and according to reddit leaks Snoke as well.
The red guards have some other weapon, and the only candidates that are left for these weapons are mysterious MiB at Anch TO.

Good call on those.

Those being mis-labeled Rebels toys would make a lot more sense than being TLJ toys...unless there's a big flashback to something involving Rebels or there are some new mystery Force users that LF has kept under absolutely lock-and-key.

Btw, I'm thinking the lightsaber toys are from the "Bladebuilders" line (especially the "Choose Your Path" one), so they're not necessarily linked to any particular character or story. "Choose Your Path" lightsaber probably comes with two colours you can choose from.

I'm sure plenty of children think the spinning lightsaber and Ezra's hybrid saber are really cool, and would love to experiment with them. There's probably nothing more to it than that.

So...back to this pic, which seems to have kind of gotten glossed over in GermanToyCollectorMagHelmetPabloGate yestserday:



It's blurry as heck, but for the Rey pic, I think that looks like Ahch-To in the background. And she appears to be wearing her new "Jedi" outfit in the pic. So, that would suggest that at least Rey and Luke stick around Ahch-To for a little while after the Rain Fight.
