Reylo Shippers Universe

My reaction to the trailer was wonderful surprise! Prior to the trailer, I had lowered my expectations for romantic Reylo, especially after the VF article. I also had low expectations for marketing when it came to Kylo.

I ultimately want some kind of romance between them, but what I want most is an intense and significant connection between them that makes it impossible for them to be enemies, and for Kylo to find his path to redemption from that connection. I don't want them to remain enemies. I  think it would be a tragic waste to not explore their dynamic since there was so much potential in TFA.

I still don't know if "Reylo" is a sure thing, but I think the trailer delivered on the possibility of that beautiful, intense and significant connection between them. So, I'm very happy with it! I know some circles are calling the trailer misdirection (yet some of these same people think the trailer is also saying Kylo kills Leia,  which I don't believe will happen) but I don't think the theme of the trailer is misdirection; even if the two last scenes are separate scenes, I think the trailer is hinting at Rey and Kylo's dynamic. We know there's something going on with them.

I'm going to be a nervous wreak the first time I watch the movie in December and I know it's going to be a wild ride because there's going to be times where Kylo is going to act like a complete fool, etc., but I have hope that Rian is telling a good story, as is reflected in the trailer. If there are any positive interactions between Rey and Kylo, I  know I'm going to have to control myself not to squeal with joy. I'll also need to watch the movie at least three times, just to absorb it all.

I'm not surprised because I definitely always saw canon Reylo coming in some capacity, be it platonic and spiritual or full-on romantic.I'm very excited because the trailer's introduction of the "RAWPOWAH" gave us all a nice explanation for Kylo's interest in Rey. "Don't be afraid, I feel it too" = #RAWPOWAH (or "something special", either way). In a way I think Reylos were wrong too because it wasn't about him being attracted to her light or having a crush on her, though at the time those were perfectly valid theories. It's an explanation that is very easy to grasp and accept by any SW fan because it's about the Force and how it "binds them". Add to that romantic imagery (see: THE HAND) and you have what we all love about Rey and Kylo's dynamic. That, and this brings us into territory that could evolve into mutual romantic feelings in IX.

3. I'm leaving that for when it happens because I don't know how I'll react.

That part in bold is what makes me really happy. That explanation is so simplistic and yet so powerful. His look of awe when she retrieved the legacy saber was a “She’s got this power too. She’s like me.” And him wanting to teach her was because he knows better than anyone what can happen when this raw power awakens. Really cool. Obviously, there are already the ones saying it’s not possible because they cannot be more powerful than Luke, but they’re missing the point that many times it’s not about how powerful you are but how you use your power (or skills for us poor force-free Earth humans).

Nicely said. I tcould go into romantic territory but it might not need ot, if they deem it as spiritual thing. We shall see.

I'm going to answer this before I read the thread so I'm sorry if I repeat anyone.

It was 3am so the most I could do was raise my fists in the air at the end and look manically at my partner. If it was earlier I would have been screaming.

It feels like a very long journey which is finally reaching the end. We were belittled and insulted in the beginning where many of us originally met, which led to the creation of this place, and it will feel strange once it becomes fully canon. I would like to think that we will keep this place going even if Reylo has taken over everywhere else. I've already noticed the tide changing in the past couple of months.

3. How do you think you will react in theater when we actually get Reylo intense moments?

Possibly squeal very loudly and embarrass myself!

1. I posted a few days prior that I believed there was going to be a nugget for us in this trailer. I thought it'd be Kylo and Rey in the same frame about to bust each other up with their lightsabers. I would've been content.

But I never, never expected this. First of all, the entire thing started and ended with Kylo? They've been hiding his a** for months and now he gets more air time than ever before? I was already floating from Snoke predatory voice over, the close ups of conflicted Kylo with Leia, AND from Luke being terrified of Rey. These were things we had predicted long ago.

But then...BUT THEN

"I need someone...to show my my place in this". I thought for a split second kiddingly they'd have the balls to show him--AND THEN I SEE

Adam's beautiful face amidst a fiery background and I ascended but then THE HAND, THE HAND

I remember just repeating "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh" a thousand times and then trying to type something coherent on the forum with shaking fingers.

I just never expected that and like I've said, I will never forget the feeling of pure shock and elation at not only seeing Kylo at the end of Rey's request, but then HIS HAND

1) I'm a college football fan, not a pro football fan. There's a difference - just trust me on this. So, I sat through an interminable two quarters of the Vikings-Bears game - I swear I was about to die when they called seemingly every time out available to them with eight seconds left in quarter. According to my husband, I was saying: Oh my God, oh my God for most of the trailer. I do remember saying at the very end, when Kylo pops up and offers his hand: Holy s..t (at Kylo's face), HOLY S..T (at his hand)! I Loved it.
2) Now that Reylo is looking very likely, I'm starting to pinch myself - I can't believe it's true. I'm scared they are going to snatch the rug out from under us. SO SCARED.
3) I think I'm going to be giddy going into the theater. But once I sit down, I'll appear preternaturally calm. Inside, I'll be bouncing around like a basketball.

after trailer and last scene I was shivering 15 minutes, literaly, couldn't breath.
it was 6 am in my country, I was waiting and then couldn't sleep, discussing it with SW fan friends in FB until 9am

I was so shocked by the presence of Kylo. Wasn't expecting much of him AT ALL. And of course, the last part made me explode. I was screaming. I died and went to reylo heaven.

Omg I'm actually worried because I will want to scream and hyperventilate, what if I get escorted out??? I will lose my s***. People will think I have lost it.

Imo it was a great strategic move to keep Kylo more secretive most of this year (April & July) and then BAM in our face in the posters & trailer. Built some excellent suspense.

I absolutely agree, that was ridiculously brilliant! As much as I hated the “Hidden!Kylo” marketing this whole year, Monday night’s trailer made it all worth it. Had they been dropping hints throughout here and there that Rey and Kylo would have a more complicated relationship than mortal enemies, the impact would have been lessened. I mean, this is stuff we’ve been speculating about since day 1, but it’s a whole different experience to actually see it unfold in front me. It was bloody awesome!!!

Okay, I'll bite!

I remember gripping our sofa through the whole trailer. After months of hidden Kylo, I couldn't believe that he was FINALLY front-and-center in the trailer. And I agree with @SheLitAFire and @IoJovi ...as irritating as the marketing campaign was at times, it only heightened the impact of the trailer. And on that last scene, I yelled out "Holy s***!" in front of my husband and daughter. To which my husband cracked, "Yeah, they're gonna bone."

2. How do you feel now that Reylo is getting near to coming true?

Vindicated, to be honest. I'm still holding out hope for a kiss at the end of TLJ (perhaps right before the likely Praetorian guard fight?), but what I really think this alliance will do is lay the groundwork for a full-blown romance in IX. And we'll have even more confirmation in TLJ that we're on the right track with this.

3. How do you think you will react in theater when we actually get Reylo intense moments?

I will likely grab my husband's arm and squeal. Loudly.

Some of you don't think it's a confirmation of romance? I mean, I get where you're coming from. But did you see the look on his face?

1. I pretty much assumed  there was no way that the trailer would show any Reylo hint, that it was all under wraps. Then the recent about face and suddenly talking a lot about Kylo led me to think there might be a hint. I just didn't expect something so direct. That floored me. I didn't watch the trailer until I had read about it for two days. Superstitious.

2. I don't necessarily see myself as a shipper in the way that others do. And I didn't go through the shipping wars. For me it's not as emotional. It's just the right way to take the story. So in that sense I'm pleased.  

3. I would hope no one would shout and let everyone around enjoy the movie.

I agree. That ending being the "money shot" of the trailer...with that look on his face...I'm a heck of a lot more confident that we're getting a romance (even if the "romance" part isn't developed until IX) than I was pre-trailer.

Totally! I am like 99.99999% the Reylo romance will happen in this trilogy.    The question is whether it will start with a kiss in TLJ or they will leave it all to JJ in IX? I trust JJ with that part, so no worries. I just hope we get like an almost kiss or something in TLJ before we have to wait two more years. But it will happen! They are totally hinting at that! Plus, they wouldn´t waste their chemistry! I mean, think about the possibilities! All they could do with Daisy and Adam.. Heh..

Several articles about Stormpilot have shown up in my FB and Tumblr feeds this morning. Why suddenly? It's very misleading. People commenting are either homophobes or people who seem like they haven't followed any of the TLJ merchandising or promo (No mention of FinnRose).

You know when you've been hoping and wishing for something for a long time, and now you have it in your hands, but the more you firmly hold it, the more afraid you feel that it will easily slip away from your hands?? That is what I am feeling right now. The more confirmed, the more convincing Reylo have become, the more afraid I am that they will be related. I know it's silly but I can't help to feel that way. Especially all these press junkets makes me read things too much. I wish I can just go sleep now and be awake on Dec 14 already and immediately see the answers myself.

I might decide to block myself from internet any day now or I might not at all, I don't know. Just in case I'm suddenly not around, I just wanna let you guys know I will be back on Dec 15 for sure, lol.

1. I got triggered by the Kylo & Leia and Finn & Phasma scenes. Luke being all scared of a force noob got me worried though.

2. No different than before. I haven't doubted reylo the moment I first saw the interrogation scene (which just confirmed to me what I felt 50/50 about after the bridal carry). I guess I should be put off by a seemingly obvious storyline, but it's what they're gonna do with it that piques my interest.

3. That depends on the audience in the theater I guess. The more adult common fans will probably think it a nice (and tooootally unforeseeable, lol) twist. And then of course there are the kids (both in juvenile and adult bodies); among the German fandom for example it's quite common to whine about Kylo's looks (interestingly, it's mostly men who do so).

I know exactly what you mean. I also have a tendency sometimes to read/watch things and try to second guess what they mean. Things have been looking very good so far, so sometimes there's a tendency to wonder if it's going to continue or not. Yes, there's still that chance that Rey is related until we know for sure, but everything we've seen so far has been very positive on the Rey and Kylo front.

really? I seemed to have missed that   What du you mean exactly by whine about Kylo's looks- his style in the movie or Adam Driver's looks in general?

Adam Driver's looks. But the German GA is 99% shallowness only anyway. Plenty of them don't find Rey appealing either because of her lacking breasts.

One of my female German friends is also very rude about Kylo's looks and often complains that he should have kept his helmet on. His looks are the reason why she doesn't like the character    How can people be so shallow?

What??? Seriously?    I cheer on every female actor who decides to keep her body natural and don't pump their breasts full of silicone!
But Germans are a bit grumpy anyway- If you take a look into social media and read the comments about any random topic they always complain about everything - some of them should get a hobby- or a life

well, I have to be honest - I didn't like Adam in the beginning either... he has this unconventional look and nowadays the audiences are more used to "pretty faces". I guess they expected the son of Han and Leia looking...different. More like Anakin (Hayden Christensen).
But, I would never ever insult an actor or person because of his looks- people who does that are ugly inside.

Adam can be very attractive but his looks is something you need time to get used to?  

I'm curious how the German fandom or GA will react if they realize Kylo might be redeemed or become the love interest of the heroine.

Get that here as well...an overall disappointment about the new heroes in general (on an average, most people here consider Han Solo the best looking Star Wars character in all the saga movies so far). I've heard of people complain about Kylo's looks and Rey not being curvy enough...but then again there are people here who find her beautiful and like the fact Kylo is so tall and carries himself impressively.
