@OrionStars Because reaction and impression is usually a personal thing. As I said, there are bad movies that you can enjoy. Professional review requires you to analyze a movie from cultural and filmmaking POV.

- What was creative task behind this film/story and was it interesting/challenging/new as an idea?
- Did creator succeed in execution and realising this task via film?

Usually even professional reviews are trash because critics are whining about their preferences and expectations without acknowledging a task that was established by creators. I was reading recently Tarkovsky's notes and his reviews are terrible and unfair, well, at least, he wasn't a critic and it wasn't a review publication.

In general I agree that professional reviews and reviewers are trash. I'm a lot more interested in analyses, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to whose I actually care about. That is not an endorsement that I'll love this film, it's just the truth in my experience - I've adored films critics have slammed and I've hated films critics have praised, and in my opinion there's no such thing as an objective review or objective opinion on a work of art. You can be objective about various pieces, but ultimately your personal feelings are always going to interfere somehow because that's just how we experience fiction/art.

Why nobody told us about Kylo couldn't kill Rey?

VA is still better earlier reviewer than anybody, he is capable of being fair towards everything that is happening in the movies and acknowledge that there is something that he can't remember clearly or doesn't like to the point that it affects his perception.

Has anyone seen the rom com last christmas? I feel that TROS is basically that but SW lol

edit: sorry immaculate conception is a diff concept but then would it be virgin birth...? lol whatever spiritual birth of a child lol

I just feel lied to with all of the “hope and family and love” talk leading up to this film. Yeah, I was HOPING at least one member of the Skywalker FAMILY would survive and find LOVE.

I think if Thor Yoda can exist, then Kylo can have fun with Rey too, and you know, a couple of kids can pop out as a result of they have too much fun.

It's actually so sickening how they warped the story. The skywalkers decide to choose this newbie palpatine as their spiritual heir over their now redeemed descendant. wtf??

Lol, Yoda can ignite at tree with fire and Luke can catch a lightsaber and use the Force to lift a ship. Pretty sure Ben Solo's currently nonexistent Force Ghost can will be ready to have fun with Rey Skywalker as soon as he materializes, which he will be because he "became more powerful than we could possibly imagine" and pulled the vanishing into the Force act.

Yeah, I always wanted that for their dynamic as Rey had already beaten him in TFA. And him not being able to go through with it... just makes her stabbing him even more heartbreaking. Btw, ViewerAnon also said that him and other people were weeping in the theater during the Ben and Han scene.

@Cowgirlsamurai Nope no Golden Dice and for all that "it's about family" talk the ending was that Ben's widow takes the family name and ends up squatting in the deserted family compound. Wonder if she'll be scratching tick marks on one of the walls for every day that goes by since her husband died? I guess when I noticed between the imagery and JJ talking about haunted houses, being reminded of Crimson Peak was not a good thing. Or at least JJ decided to try and emulate the ending of that movie's tragic romance between the heroine and villain but completely botched it.

Well, sounds like we're gonna be on a real ride with Benny boy for his farewell tour, huh? If it's emotionally satisfying in the sense that it's well done, even if heartbreaking, would make me feel a little less bitter, although probably no less sad.

So it's confirmed. No Adam at the London premiere. There's a photo of the cast before their flight to London and Adam isn't there.

The thing with ben becoming with the force tho is we already saw it with luke. It would have been far more compelling to me if he lived even after reviving her. Now that's real powerful force stuff.
