I have to say Kelly got that special charm and I can totally understand why Rian was so excited to introduce her. Also, they played Anakin and Padme love theme to her and that's quite and interesting intro for her.

Don't LOL, that WAS a recent Reddit 'spoiler,' she's Luke's long-lost daughter. Here's a wild guess based on RJ's previous two movies, but she'll be in the screwball vein of Penelope in Brothers Bloom. Meanwhile Rey will be more like the fiercely self-reliant but also compassionate Sara in Looper.

It's a small detail, but I love how Finn and Rose's names are very... normal-sounding. Names like Rey, or Kylo sound like they come from the GFFA. But in Finn and Rose's cases, they're basically us - ordinary people, but who have the potential of becoming great heroes.

@snufkin To be honest, I wouldn't mind if Rose turned out to be Luke's daughter, lol! There are those rumors that Kelly had to do not only a chemistry test with John, but also one with Mark. They also seem to get along very well with each other (looking at how they hugged at the panel). Again, it might just be due to Kelly getting along well with Chelsea Hamill (Mark's daughter), but still.

(Literally have been lurking on this forum for months, waiting for Kelly's character to be revealed. Of course, I love Reylo. But I'm SUPER excited for Kelly. I'm excited to finally talk on this forum! )

I bet that during their adventure, Rose wears her normal mechanic fatigues (and she still looks super cute), but before they enter the casino, Rose changes into a beautiful fancy gown and everyone is like "Wow, she's GORGEOUS!" and she gets a Cinderella moment.

That rumor came from people who don't want rehashes but ironically want Rose to be a Lando character.

Also I doubt Rian would do that to her anyway. The way he introduced Rose as a character was like he wanted us to fall in love with her for being a normal kid getting dragged into this clusterf*ck. Rose like Finn is meant to represent the normal people becoming unlikely heroes so yeah, that convinced me that Rian won't destroy such a hopeful character just for the sake of a story.

That's something I've been wondering about as well, especially as one of the sets in Dubrovnik had shop windows transformed into a space fashion boutique (a unisex one: there was a fancy dress and a space tux in the window display). I could definitely imagine them both getting some fancy clothes in order to blend in at the casino. Not only a Cinderella moment, but also a James Bond moment...

It isn't just FinnRey shippers... from what I've seen most of them seem to be delighted with Rose, which I'm happy and pleasantly surprised about. Stormpilot shippers perhaps less so.

But I think there are lots of SW fans who are really keen for there to be a "twist" in EVERYTHING. "Innocent maintenance worker turns out to be traitor" is just par for the course. Ironically, the same people are usually the first to announce that Rey's parentage is "obvious".

Tbh they might like her as a character but not as a romantic partner for Finn. To many FinnRey shippers out there Rose is just a friend to Finn, who happens to be going with her on some adventure. I've seen more Finn fans who are happens to be shipping him with Rey quite frankly dissapointed with this and the poster (lack of Finn). Because to them TFA was set up for their romance. Don't know about Stormpilot part of fanbase but maybe perhaps they are dissapointed too.

Twist worked really well for Kylo as Matt the radar technician.

I'm actually a fan of the Rose Skywalker theory.....Luke need not have had a super strong force sensitive child..in legends, Satele Shan (who was a powerful force user and the grand child of Revan and Bastila) had a non-FS son....similarly, maybe Luke has a child who is non-FS or only mildly FS and chooses to be part of the resistance plot,like Leia chose to help the republic and not become a jedi. It adds diversity to the Skywalker lineage and I don't think this harms Kylo's redemption in any way... infact, it gives him more family to return to...and people in the republic who might defend him when he returns.

Looks like there's a Rose Easter Egg in BTS as some fans uncovered Rose mixed up with the Storm Troopers:



Crosschecks with MSW description and Finn's clearly wearing black pants which is not his Resistance uniform color. Also, the interior looks like a FO office/ship and the presence of Phasma and Storm troopers. That tells me that Finn may indeed cut Phasma's arm off out of revenge for something he does to Rose.

Actually, Finn has a FO uniform too under that bathrobe that covers it. They appear in FO uniforms in the shareholder's footage. Sadly, the footage shown wasn't the part of the teaser (save 1 or 2 scenes) but sounds better except that it didn't have Kylo.
