So a new canon reference book came out a few days ago, called Smuggler’s Guide. A summary of the book:

Anyway, near the end there’s a letter from Leia to Han and it’s clearly set during the ST as Rey is mentioned and it’s after Han’s death (it seems). Looks like it’s set after the end of TLJ? She says that the Falcon is Chewie’s ship now!



So it seems that Chewie (and not Poe) owns the Falcon in IX, which makes perfect sense. With Joonas being spotted in Jordan, it seems like Finn/Poe/Chewie/Falcon are grouped together and a significant part of IX. Where is Rey in all of this? I know Chewie was piloting the Falcon on Crait, but I honestly expected her to be in ownership of it in IX. I’m wondering how much she’s even going to be part of this storyline. John and Oscar have been spotted continuously together in different locations and not a peep of Daisy.

@Kylo Rey Adam, Domnhall, and Kelly haven't been seen either. But I just remember how most of the major plot points were completely under wraps until TLJ came out. There was even that KoR on Ahch-To fakeout scene. This is all weirdly comforting in a way.

Maybe this letter works hand in hand with the timing of the Poe Dameron comics scene below. Interesting that it is typed out and Leia signs it.

Yeah some of those quotes, too much of his father's heart "[After what happened]...I swore I'd never get close to anybody again." "who else could have pushed through my carefully crafted shields to reach the heartbroken orphan on the other side?" "Regrets aren't something to be ashamed of..a chance to step back and take stock of your life before moving forward...allow to see with compassion that others have made the same mistakes." Also that quote about Rey, as if Solo didn't hammer that point so hard that Kasdan had to outright tell people in press interviews.

I love that letter from Leia,it's so perfectly in character for her and the Han/Leia relationship.Lol at the tight pants being one of the things that make her fall for him.

So, I am currently on a work Trip throgh Israel and Jordan. The last two days I spent in aqaba, jordan. Before the trip, me and my collegue decided it would be nice to see the wadi rum when we stay in aqaba anyway. So, we asked our contact there to hook us up with a trip. This trip was today. We got picked up by a guy who helps our partner with some logistics and stuff. Turns out this guy‘s company did also the logistics for many movies that were shot at wadi rum like the martian. When we headed out to the valley he told me that there has just been another big shoot at wadi rum that he was handling. He said we‘ll have lunch there later, cause the shooting wrapped a few days ago and his company had to clean up the site. Then he said it was a Star Wars Film and he even showed me some clips on his phone one of his coworkers recorded secretly. (I’ll get to that later). We then spent a nice day at wadi rum (which is truly beautiful) and finally had the lunch at the set. There wasn‘t much left. I didn’t see any props. A few trailers, some light posts, production vehicles and a catering tent where we had lunch. Our guy told me during production there were three of these to cater up to 6000 people (sounds a bit much), but there’s only one left for the clean up crew. I noticed a lot of posters marked with a trixie logo, the codename of the film. I managed to take some pics. Not too many though.

Now, let’s talk about the clips on his phone. Apparently a crane operator took theme during actual filming. I saw three clips.

1) a Shot of rey and chewie being tossed in the air after an explosion (this was filmed against a medium sized green screen that hang in the air) the explosion was a practical effect and rey was wearing a similar costume to ep7

2) an almost identical shot of Finn and some other guy (maybe Poe?) no green screen this time and the explosion wasn’t as big.

3) Rey doing some solo running, jumping and swinging her lit lightsaber.

That‘s all. As always, take it with a grain of salt. But this guy was legit.

The leak does sound legit. Too bad it's more of the same Resistance stuff. What happened to the Skywalker saga and that guy who is supposed to be the last Skywalker?

On the one hand I want some Kylo leaks but I also want to go longer with it being a suprise.But yeah kinda tired of only hearing about Poe and Finn in the leaks but I guess that stuff is less guarded and more in the open.At least this mentions Rey finally.

He got there after shooting was done and just a description of footage unlike Dubrovnik where we got actual footage. I just find the idea of a crane operator filming videos off set highly unlikely (especially because they are supposedly using those Nokia phones) or even just going around and spilling the beans as it’s breaking the NDA and would result in losing the job. I think the biggest reason I’m skeptical is that the leaker said that Rey’s hair seems to be tied up in buns again/not loose and she’s supposedly wearing a outfit similar to her TFA one (although they did describe it as an off-white eggshell colour). It just seems like a weird regression stylistically when these movies are big on symbolism through clothing.

just from a "toy-selling" perspective I think they will change some things about her hair & outfit. My guess is her style is more similar to what we already saw her in TFA & TLJ at the beginning (act 1)and she will change later.

OK, this maybe very shallow & girly of me but I want to see Rey in a nice fancy dress or outfit- please! I mean we get it, she isn't there for the male gaze blah blah! But you can be a strong woman & role model for girls and still wear nice things. Come on JJ! We know you can do it!

I think it’s the possibility of her tying her hair up again that I find weird. The timeline thing is off too, something not adding up. I realise the Kylo scenes are probably filmed mostly in studio, but it’s still weird.

LOL, imagine Kylo gets barely any screentime and it’s a Resistance fest. Antis complained about him hogging the narrative (which is stupid as he’s a Skywalker), but he actually had less screen time in TLJ than TFA. He didn’t have nearly enough.

I always think of that Rob Lowe tweet to the effect of ‘more Rey and Kylo, less of everything else ‘. Even celebrities found the non-Reylo stuff boring.

Same feelings exactly. All of this is yawn. If she really is going back to her old clothes, wow JJ, such creativity. Also I'll be really annoyed if they don't let her have her own lightsaber. I think it's just beyond obvious she should make one. And it's a big marketing thing too, people would gonuts for a rey saber, esp double!!

Perhaps this whole Jordan shoot is the first 15 minutes of the movie. You know the boring battles that open up every movie lol. The major end battles seem to be done in studios with all the green screen.

I'm actually glad it's Finn/Poe rather than Finn/Poe/Rey!

I think this might be at the beginning myself; I really think they will give Rey a hairstyle and costume change otherwise what's the point of the 'let the past die' speech from Kylo? What I am hoping for is a more 'grey' Resistance.....at the moment I actually find the 'good guys' completely uninteresting. One thing I keep coming back to is a comment Oscar made in which he referred to a 'resistance' being more of a sympathetic group than a 'rebellion', as it implies people fighting against oppression more than a rebellion which doesn't necessarily mean the 'rebels' are in the right. But in TLJ they twice referred to them as 'rebels'. Foreshadowing? Or am I clutching at straws here?

Doesn't JJ film chronologically though? This sounds like Act 2. Did the leaker mention the clips he saw were filmed in Jordan? Or did he see random clips from different filming locations while he was in Jordan?

As long as they have Rey and Ben BOTH under wraps, that’s a good thing. And apparently they do. Once again, whatever they are doing with Daisy and Adam isn’t just going to be a big action scene— it’s going to be the heart and soul of the film. If their scenes are as intimate as the ones in TLJ— or TFA, for that matter— they won’t be shot outdoors with loads of extras around and leakers checking things out. Fine with me.

I'm happy to see Daniel Wallace wrote this, he wrote the Jedi Path (i'm thinking this is currently not canon.) Anyone buying it Smugger's Guide?

I naturally wished for an explicit Kylo/Ben reference in this letter.. but it is unlikely we will get such a reveal before IX... so this is a wish I know is not likely and I've concluded the letter is brilliantly written! lol. Because, for anyone who has been seeing the bendemption story unfold - there is loads of indirect references to Ben here. For those who are not looking for it - I don't think they will see anything related to Ben in this letter, and when bendemption has fully played out in IX, all fans will be able to look back on content such of this and see it with new eyes
It reads like a wonderful letter for Ben to find in IX.. whether Leia has passed on or not.. Also, maybe if she wrote a letter to dead Han, she went ahead and wrote a letter to her brother and her son while she was at it?! lol.
Anyway.. looking for Reylo tie ins.. some of the letter speaks to a redeemed Ben:
Ben too is a beautiful intractable idiot. (rofl)
After the Jedi temple... Ben swore he'd never get close to anyone again..
There are cautionary words here for redeemed Ben- about spending a lifetime running away from regrets..
There is encouragement here from Leia to step back and take stock of your life before moving forward once more. I think this ties in with one of the main ST themes- dealing with the past and looking to the future. Not killing the past and not getting stuck in the past either.. but acknowledging it, learning from it and then moving forward from it.

And the ending of force willing we will see each other again? Ohhh I hope that is some kind of foreshadowing of IX!!

Hey, anyone got any ideas why Rey would be back in the 3 buns?! It does seem like a step backward for the character.. and I am not assuming this info is accurate.. but.. it's fun to play around with the idea. What if...
1)Maybe Rey goes back to Jakku and her old AT AT (temporarily for whatever reason) so she tries to not arouse suspicions of Unkar Plutt and others - pretending she has not changed at all... and makes amends for stealing the MF. lol.
2)Maybe Rey is in a flashback to events just prior to TFA?

I'm hoping Rey has a long hair out moment and gets to wear more colour in IX!

Also my theory is that if its Act 2 then maybe theres a force bond session beforehand where Kylo warns her of the attack (Well i hope so anyway, I just don’t want Kylo to be ordering the attack on Rey)

I'm not sure why the possibility of Rey having her hair pulled back is a regression? I mean it's not confirmed that she's got the 3 buns again; and it sounds like quite the battle they're having... it's much more practical to have long hair pulled back in that situation. Also; the leaker said her outfit is similar to the one in TFA but more white and less brown, that doesn't sound the same to me... the TLJ one was basically just a darker version of that as well.

I'd also say this is def. Act 2; besides that JJ films in order, Dominic M. said here; “JJ is a friend of mine and he said to me that at some point I’d get the opportunity to read the script. [He told me] ‘just be aware of the fact that there are massive sequences in Act 2, there are massive sequences in Act 3 but because we’re shooting Act 1 first, I’ve put you in there and you seem to not be around as much in Act 2 and Act 3 but that’s because that’s what we’re doing first so I want you here, I want you invested. So read the script but just know there wont be long until there’ll be a re-draft of those things and we’ll see you a little bit more’. So I read it, and the script is amazing and obviously there isn’t a lot I can say..”

These were also 3 tiny clips from the filming; they've been filming for almost two months... who knows what parts these were from exactly! And that other Jordan Redditor said Adam was filming there 3 weeks ago so it's not like he's not in the film, plus the fact that his & Daisy's schedules matched up for Jordan before John, Oscar, & the rest even arrived.

I wonder when will Adam go back to filming though? Probably after Thanksgiving.

Here's hoping we get some Reylo leaks in Dec and January. I bet JJ is filming all of the juicy Reylo scenes toward the end!

Yeah, probably, I'm sure everyone gets time off for Turkey day.... But even Daisy wasn't always in Jordan during the filming, at one point she was in Dubai so I don't think it's just the Resistance show plus whatever they film in studio.
