Darn you for causing that thought to enter my brain! lol
I wish that I had expansive awareness of Joseph Campbell's works, then I could try to figure it out, yet I don't. It's a possibility, but I am hoping that will not be the situation!

There could be widespread rioting if it happens!
In ch. 4 when that shot rang out and we weren't sure yet what happened, I briefly wondered how the world was going to react if something happened to that completely fictional puppet child.

I was eek! yet a part of me instinctively knew neither was shot...I just didn't know how - I thought Cara was still in the village. I should have known/trusted that her special forces type tracking/instincts would always be on!

Maybe Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito's character)?
I've seen people guess that it's Greef Carga, who comes back at some point according to the trailers, or even Boba Fett. (Haven't figured out how that is supposed to work. )

Also super interesting but also weird to be on tatooine while isolated from the skywalker story. I wish they showed the whole binary sunrise tho!

I have no idea what to think. lol When I saw Boba Fett's name mentioned..I was ?? wha? If so, I guess he and Ming Na Wen's character (brain freeze on the name) were a romantic pair? So, he will now want revenge against the killer, and he thinks it's our hero? ?? lol I'm so lost. Corseque https://twitter.com/northgalis has great thoughts about it.
What I think I know, LOVE - The Child/Baby Yoda opened the hanger door because he knew the nice lady (played by Amy Sedaris) was out there, and would play with him. haha She was so funny "I'll charge him more!" Which...yeah, babysitting money is important, but I could tell she fell in love with the kid. lol
- Spoiler:
- Her character may have been a cold blooded assassin, but I'm sad she as killed, as well. I feel a sense of character relief our hero did not do it, which I would never see him do - killing someone, when they are in handcuffs!

I think so, although there are people on the Internets swearing up and down she's still alive. (Again, not sure how that works when she's been lying in the same position for literally hours after getting gut shot...)
Hey, I'll be happy if she's miraculously alive. She was far, far more interesting than that dumb bounty hunter wannabe.

I guess the point of this episode was to drive home the idea that the Mando can't do this alone. He really needs help. Maybe a partner he can trust this time... *cough*Cara*cough* Though I don't think she's the babysitting type. Seriously though, I think he and Cara will be a team but there might be more people added to the posse. I'm thinking that would have to carry into Season 2 though.
I loved Amy Sedaris's character. She was totally a viewer insert. "Oooh, look at your bright eyes!" *tweaks ears* "Do you want some food?" "You can't leave a baby alone like that!!!!" "Was that noise too loud for you? Did that mean man try to shoot your daddy?" Yep, there I was.
I didn't like this episode as much as the last three. Partly because the bounty hunter boy annoyed me a lot. Partly because it seemed the Mando regressed in his ability to care for the child (last episode: I can't let him play with village children where he'll be constantly attended! This episode: I think I'll stuff him in a closet!). But I'm beginning to wonder if I just don't like Dave Filoni's live action style. I didn't really like the first episode much either until we met the baby.

Re: The Mandalorian, Disney+
@12 Parsnips It's amazing how DF's style - what works in animation does not translate too well into live action. He's still learning, yet we're impatient. haha
I did feel for Mando when he returned on the dewback and sighed, when he saw the betrayal. He knew it was brewing, might happen, and when it did. SIGH
haha

Re: The Mandalorian, Disney+
I just watched it last night, and found it odd I hadn't seen much discussion online, unlike all the other weeks when it seemed no one would stop talking about it, making memes, sharing clips.
Filoni's certainly gotten ripped up for the directing and writing on this one, and for his treatment of the aforementioned character. His inexperience compared to the last several directors is sort of clear. But I liked the mechanic lady, her accent really did make it feel like it was a western.
- Spoiler:
- It would be great if Ming-Na Wen was alive, though I don't know if she is. They didn't give her a lot to do and then offed her, kind of a waste.
The use of sign language was nice, have we seen that with the Tuskan raiders before?
Also, what's this Boba Fett part I missed? Was he the guy at the end?

- Spoiler:
- My daughter just watched the episode with me and she was mad that "Mulan" had like two minutes of screen time. I empathize! After the IG-11 thing though it is not that surprising that she had such a small part.
I think sign language is new with Tuskens.
There is a bit in one of the Aftermath books where a guy who's not Boba Fett seems to have gotten Boba's armor to wear. So people think that means Boba somehow got out of the Sarlacc pit. (To me it seems more likely the Sarlacc just spit the armor out, but who knows!) Some people think that was Boba because he made a jingling sound like spurs that Boba did (I guess?).
@SW_Heroine_Journey
I'm sorry that I keep repeating this, but I am so glad that this show was not as advertised--it's like 150% better than I could have imagined. I am so happy that the Mando isn't just a heartless loner bad*** gunslinger and has some real depth and vulnerability to him. And we get some nice, er, shots of him.

Marie-Claire Gould suggests in this podcast (https://player.fm/series/what-the-force-a-star-wars-show/once-upon-a-time-in-the-outer-rim-episode-5-the-mandalorian-the-gunslinger) that chapter 5 was only ghostwritten by Dave Filoni and was actually written by George Lucas....
I don't know, but it explains a lot, including the many gratuitous speeder-riding shots across the desert.

She may be onto something! When he was on the set, it may be from the filming of this episode.
Also, she surmises the unseen person with the cape is Giancarlo Esposito, and you know, I agree - from what can be seen of his costume from the official photos, it appears very fancy. His character is a former Imperial, and Ming-Na's character was an assassin for them, among others.
I agree with her and Alex that although Boba Fett is beloved, The Mandalorian will be kept separate because it's the story they probably always wanted to tell, or wish they could tell, but the infamy of Boba Fett prevents it, so better to create a new character.

I never read any of the Legends Boba Fett stuff, and I never really understood the appeal of the Boba Fett mystique from the OT. So I'm perfectly fine with him still being digested by the Sarlacc! I think we have a perfectly good Mandalorian right here.
She thinks Ming is still alive, though. I don't think she is, but we shall see!

Am I the only person here that feels that the show is getting worse after the peak that was episode 3? That the last 2 episodes felt like fillers and the story didn't really move forward?
