Good point. I hadn't thought about that. I remember that back in TFA time, someone had pointed out that the Knights of Ren looked like medieval knights. I guess so, unless there is something specific about their connection that granted Rey with the right to be the owner of the Skywalker legacy lightsaber until the end. It called to her specifically and flied to her even even when Kylo called it in TFA. Lawrence Kasdan hinted that Kylo's insecurities played a big part in the fact that the saber didn't fly into his hand.

Yes the scepter shall not pass from Judah until Shiloh comes.. Rey is Judah.. the conquering lion.. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah.. that is why she has Lion King references.. and DOES NOT share them with Kylo

Okay.. don't know how right this is but this is my daughters translation..

Light and dark rey and kylo
Rey is continuing Luke's thoughts or feelings ( will) she is the resistance last hope
Kylo is Luke's real nephew and the last of the Skywalker bloodline..

So my kid is saying that the gist is Rey is continuing Luke's mantel of Jedi and Kylo is Luke's bloodline..
