Oh, I truly hope that won't be the case    - I'd like to have Kylo/Ben the chance to do better than his own parents.  

I would be all for running off together but in Episode IX rather than TLJ. To finish this off with a happy ending.

I totally agree- running off in VII would be to early but I wish this kind of ending for IX... I'm all for drama and complicated storyline BUT I'm soooo into happy endings!!! Yeah, the romantic in me... it's buried deep inside, but it's there

Someone asked Pablo Hidalgo about this but he gave a standard answer. Rian said that Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the inspirations for TLJ. Probably better to talk about it in Battlefront II thread.

They were "looking" for something. I'm telling you, they were searching for a person, the other half of some prophesy involving Kylo. Not because she's Luke's daughter or some nonsense, but because she was spoken of or prophesied in some Jedi scripture/text.

Pretty big reveal from Battlefront II.

Maybe I am just imagining it but I remember I've heard about this Luke's compass before in some leak, but did not paid any attention to it. Not sure but it did said something about the balance and Kylo/Rey. Not sure, so I had to double check here if anyone knows.

That would fit with your idea that Luke and Ben were searching for her, the other half. If Luke thought Ben was The Chosen One and was wrong, Maybe they got to the point of thinking there are two of them. This is maybe why he said "it IS you." Kylo had an idea that she had force powers, so the next best thing would be that she is someone he's heard about. Funny that apparently Luke has heard of this girl before too.

yep, that actually works against Reywalker/Soloist. It isn't a story about Ben and Luke looking for lost sister/cousin THAT NOBODY EVER MENTIONS NOR THINKS ABOUT. They are looking for someone unknown. hence why Rey and Kylo never met and rey and Leia never met. She's not related but Kylo and Luke may have heard of someone (prophecy) that will later (TLJ) turn out to be Rey.

That devolved into crazy town really quick . In any case, right off it's contradictory to the marketing we've seen, cause Finn hasn't really been heavily featured, but it's a fun read nonetheless. It really goes for it on all levels.
