NFJ did put their hands on that concept art with Finn and Rose in speeders, but that doesn't mean they had plot spoilers. And they didn't. They just tried to use their credibility to spread FAF.

Actually a premonition/vision could work. Remember how freaked out she was running out of a cave in the first trailer from April? What if she is asking the force for answers ... and he is the answer the force gives her. She is not going to like that at all, and it may take much of the movie to accept her destiny ... or like they are saying ... fulfill your destiny. Also, it makes sense marketing-wise. This scene is a hint of things to come, and it seems like the money shot of all money shots, but when you think about it, they are not going to show any climax moments, just like they didn't show any climax moments for TFA. Also, another thing, she could be envisioning his scar in a softer way than it really is at that moment. She may be seeing the scar as it ends up, but at the time she is seeing, he still has the band-aid.

I also theorized that the hand reach scene from the trailer may be a vision Rey has early in the movie (and probably rejects harshly), especially considering the dream-like, romantic, slow-falling flames. And maybe that vision comes true toward the end of TLJ, but not nearly as romantic looking. It would be a great way to spark further intrigue in Kylo, because lord knows Rey needs a reason to consider him as more than just an enemy or obstacle to even begin getting closer to him.

And if Luke has any idea that this is something Rey has seen, it's no wonder he gets particularly cagey. Knowing the ultra powerful person asking you to train them is having visions of your equally powerful, dark side nephew offering himself to her isn't a very comforting notion.

It will be a long way till Rey & Kylo will be at a point where anything romantic or even a peaceful conversation can happen.
So it makes sense she first get's a vision to slowly prepare her for future events... you know - just like the trailer for the GA and Antis

I think peaceful conversation will happen in this movie and quite frankly on Ach-To. Road to be lovers will be a lot harder and longer. I sort of like that idea of this being a vision to her and Luke knowing what it means. It's like a big neon sign thrown in everyone's face.

It's possible, but I'm pretty skeptical of any "plot" spoilers from NFJ. They clearly did have someone pass them some merch/artwork a few months back, but they've been dead-wrong on a few plot spoilers like this.

Remember that it's supposedly the "nuns" that train Rey? And that it wasn't supposed to be Rey levitating the rocks in that shot?

Or their weird thing about how there will be a side-by-side training montage showing Kylo training with the Praetorian Guards while Rey trains alone that will be "very emotional"? (I guess that one could still be true, but I find that highly unlikely.)

I agree with you, although his intent is probably more "misdirection" than the implications that we're thinking of, if we're considering it to possibly be part of a vision.

His "leaks" have tended to minimize the interaction between Rey and Kylo, so even if he's correct about the detail of this being from a vision, I'd bet that he's way off on the context/implication.

At first, I was thinking I'd be really disappointed if "the hand" turned out to be a vision, but this is really believable. Then whatever happens in the finally will be way more dramatic (like Kylo turning against Snoke for Rey and then they fight the Praetorians).

Right. And assuming that Rey ultimately teams with Kylo in some way, it would also be the inverse of what happened with Luke's cave/training vision sequence, where he kills/turns into Vader.

It's a way to prepare the audience, test Rey and foreshadow her path she has to take. I don't think vision contradicts Bothan Spy claims because I don't expect them getting along that well that early, especially if there is a fight involved. Like civil conversation but huge distrust from her towards him.

If the hand-reaching scene is not on Ach-To and it would be too early for this unless it's a vision of the future. This way basically they would show her temptation towards Kylo but in fact hide the real deal scene from the end of the movie where she decides.

Right. If it's a vision and it's right before that scene where Rey is panting in the ground, that will be super early. That would not interfere with exploding hut at all. A vision like that would most likely pave the way for Rey to have the civil conversation with Kylo in the hut scene.

Yeah, that does not intervene with any of what Bothan said. In fact it would build up her gradual thinking about it.

First vision of the Force pointing her where she needs to be. It already did when Maz told Finn that Rey is where she needs to be. The Force brought them together after all, so it's entirely possible the Force will ochestrate for Rey to eventually accept him. Luke might even told her that this is dangerous, considering his attitude towards her and Rey being curious, she starts wrestling with the idea.

Second part would be a civil conversation and explosion of the hut. Luke would be furious which goes well with what Bothan said, as he warned that her connection of what the Force wants her to do is wrong. Prompting him to blow up the hut before their conversation takes that step of her accepting him.

Third part. Then comes the end of the movie and after the events, she finally accepts him and her destiny that is intertwined with his.
