The Mandalorian, Disney+

So dissapointed by this "trailer"... Has all autentic elements but no story, no characters, no emotion hooks. Unbelievable hollow for LFL production, I just hope that this is just bad marketing which unfortunately becomes a tradition.

Me too. To much shooting for my tastes, not even lasers but bullets. It looks and sounds too much like generic shooter action flicks for undemanding adolescents. Womenandchildren seemingly victimized. Boring and uninventive.

I loved the trailer. But, I will be honest, I was a girl raised on Cowboy & Western movies. I was fed Sergio Leone with my Lucky Charms for breakfast. So, to me I see a very stylized production that his harking back to that and I am pretty sure that is what Jon & Dave alluded at celebration. Now the classic Hollywood westerns always had romance of some sort... ALWAYS. However, the man with no name spaghetti westerns less so. So we shall see which route The Mandalorian takes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another, more informative trailer for this, given it doesn't come out for almost 3 months. This feels more like an extended teaser meant to give an atmosphere and feeling than actual story. The cast only just started doing interviews, we'll probably get hit hard with the marketing from now on. They've been highly secretive with this, being the first live action SW show people have been begging for since time began, there's whatever mysterious aura around it. You know LF loves secrecy, maybe too much.

The part that saddens me is that from the moment this show was announced, before it even had a name, or casting, or creators, and was just "live action SW bounty hunter show," it was immediately framed as the super cool, manly, dark-and-gritty REAL SW. The one with coherent storytelling, the thing to be contrasted favorably with the ST or other films, which are posed as storytelling failures. It just sort of poisons the conversation and lends a slight preemptive ickiness to something that we could otherwise be excited for, at at least ignore. There shouldn't be this weird rivalry before either show or film even comes out. Like, one SW thing should not be used to beat up another SW thing with.

Am staying positive about Mandalorian . It’s got a great cast and am sure when we watch it we will be blown away as with all things Star Wars . This looks more like a teaser trailer to set the mood rather than giving anything away . In fact it gives very little away . I can’t wait to watch it though I imagine in Uk we will have to wait a while unless sky makes a deal with Disney .

Just heard an interview with Dave, Jon, and Cathy... Jon is sticking with his circle of life shtick... and KK says that the Mando has lot's of heart and that Jon is a big softie.... So the trailer was to impress fanboy's but I am sure there will be character growth of some kind.

I'm feeling hopeful, and I am excited about Mandalorian for many reasons, yet quick list - 1) KK's idea 2) John Favreau does seem to get it (and Dave Filoni is involved, too), and 3 is a silly, but as I saw on Twitter (forgot to save it though), what is at the end of Mandalorian? Rian! haha

SW has a long history of great unmaskings. Please unearth Pedro Pascal's handsome and emotive face, it will be be legendary. In a weird way, he's in the same place Kylo was in TFA, entirely covered, performance entirely by dialogue and body language, no facial expressions for a good while.

Did not realize he visited the sets of the ST when he said he wanted to learn live action work. My gosh, the profile pieces just keep rolling. First Filoni, then Carrie/Billie, then Iger? My brain is fried. I know it's about monopolies and giant corporations fighting each other and content wars, but it's still interesting. He's seen The Mandalorian 3 times now, and someone who was at one of those shareholders meetings said the bit they showed was one of only two moments, with the low price (which I'm convinced they'll raise eventually), that got a gasp from the attendees.

I forgot he's retiring in 2021. KK might or might not renew her time at LF then too.

I LOVED IT!!!!!

That ending was...a wonderful surprise, and I literally gasped, and then my mind wondered, "who what where when why how" - but I then thought, relax...and enjoy the show. Next episode will premiere Friday, I believe. After that, once a week until ~TROS premieres, and then that is the conclusion of Season 1. Excited!
