I wonder if English isn't the first language of some of the leak posters. Because otherwise the misspellings, strange punctuation, random capitalized words, odd grammar, and not even getting the movie's title right doesn't really instill confidence.

Yes, lol! That and him ending up as a disfigured cyborg rumors always made me laugh because I knew there was no reason (or way) that was gonna happen. Especially since Adam has been sporting luscious Kylo hair.

Baldo Ren was NEVER going to happen.   Remember Colbert’s review of TFA (“The Vatican Isn’t Feeling the Force”?) in which he comments about Kylo’s hair?  It has been practically its own character since the start, reflecting his state of mind, and getting a lot of press.

@Kessel That image from a distance you can still see his facial expression and that's not his usual rage/angry look for being in the First Order. It's too soft for that and they've only shown it with Han, Leia, or Rey. So he's either in contemplation (and it's not happy contemplation about how being Supreme Leader rulz) or he's facing Rey.

I was writing a chapter of my fan fic that tells a story about the turn of time in which Ezra is the key that unites the past of Anakin and Padmé with the future of Ben Solo and Rey. Also in my story Palpatine and Ren's knights as great villains. The funny thing is that I thought this theory after seeing TLJ in the past 2017. In short, when I write I look for the canonical sources to which I can stick and I came across these theories. As my English is orrible I turn you on the links that are in English.

In practice, in Vader's comic (which is Canon) there is a user of the dark side (Momin) who manages to come back to life (occupying bodies) through a mask and a time portal.

The idea that Palpatine may have occupied the body of Ben Solo is enough to laugh and reduce Ben Solo to a princess to be saved from a spell. Mary Seu would be nothing compared to Rey ... I don't think it's the right idea ...

But the idea that someone could come back through the portals I consider feasible. Legends is full of these toerie, it seems to me that in Legends Palpatine tried to get back into the body of Luke and Mara's youngest son ...

I think that although this theory is absurd, it is not so far from one of the many choices that Disney can take from the many legends already written.

I hope Ep IX can surprise me and regardless all theory ... and I hope will be an happy ending for Rey and Ben.

That’s good to hear . I work in a public library but not acquisitions/stock editing side but this sounded suspicious to me .
Just heard some more crack leaks on tumblr that’s doing the rounds -something about Kylo and First order invading Corellia and Kashyyk ? I’ve no idea how true this is but the claim is that it comes from info about Galaxy’s Edge . If this is true then Kylo is really having a problem letting go of the past isn’t he ? Of all the planets he attacks ? His father’s and Chewie’s?


This is first I’ve seen this mentioned above ? So I don’t know where the source is from .

I was a children's librarian and I have worked at the public library. I also called my sister who is a librarian. When you order books you generally use library journals such as Kirkus Review, Booklist and others. They come out monthly and have a synopsis of upcoming books from the publisher. I don't remember ever getting sample pages of the books. Also, the movies are so secretive, they would never put something that spoilery, if it was true, in a synopsis.

Every time a fanboy mentions Darth Plagueis, a Force Ghost loses its wings.

It’s seriously the easiest tell that a “spoiler” is Fakity Fake Fake. General audiences don’t even remember the throwaway character used to tempt Anakin to the Dark Side. They remember Palpatine and Vader (even people who’ve never seen the movies know them). They probably remember Darth Maul and Dooku, but only in a “yeah, those guys” sorta way.

There’s no way the ultimate villain would ever be anyone but Palpatine (or Snoke, because he actually appeared in this trilogy).

The saddest part of that theory is if they’d just left Plagueis as the possessor out, they’d probably have landed close enough to the target to be able to claim credit for a successful guess. Just change it to Plagueis and Palpatine studied using the Force to achieve immortality, but Palpatine murdered Plagueis just before completion and instead planned to use it for himself by possessing Anakin. Then Anakin fell through by being horribly injured so he waited for a better candidate and tried with Luke. That failed so he ended up stuck in Snoke as he sought a replacement and was trying to prep Ben Solo for his new vessel, but Snoke’s death simultaneously disrupted his plans and proved Kylo was finally ready to be his new host... now he’s ready to finally get his perfect host body.

Almost identical; just Palpatine instead of Plagueis; but the fanboy need to tie in every bit of “lore fluff” (i.e. things just included to make the world feel larger than it actually is) is always their undoing... you see it with the book readers and Game of Thrones too... they’re so mired in the weeds of trying to connect in things Martin added just to make the world feel more real to the main plot that the actual narrative whallops them upside the head.

Like, it’s no accident that Thor Skywalker (of “lets endlessly bash TLJ/Rian Johnson” fame) is calling foul on the latest episodes of GoT for basically the same reason he does with TLJ... he completely misread what the actual story was because he’s lost in the weeds of what he thinks the story should be.

The reaction to GoTs final season is running just like TLJ, with me and a couple others being able to point back to posts made years ago saying that exactly what’s happening now would happen (and am immensely enjoying being proven right) while a large loud crew of idiot fanboys screams because the story isn’t matching their headcanon.

I mean, this stuff isn’t hard. Read a book on story structure and you can see everything in GoT and TLJ/TRoS coming a mile away.

It probably depends on where your investment/enjoyment is as a fan. Because I'm a movie nerd who got dragged along by family members to nearly all of the influencing classic films and Kasdan's other projects, it hasn't been hard to figure out what the intent was behind the writing. When you have the main writer of the OT and the cast member who was also a writer/had a very specific idea for writing the heroine-villain relationship involved, it's not a surprise. It's also not a coincidence that this site tends to attracts a sizable membership who come from non-Western/Commonwealth countries where telenovelas are dominant in popular culture.

Setting aside the usual 'fanboys gonna fan,' I do see a lot of fretting/bellyaching about how JJ is going to f**k it all up and it frequently comes from the fans who enjoy the aspects which got built up from the PT and EU/novels. Which no judgement if world building and lore is what you love about Star Wars. But if you're not familiar with Lawrence Kasdan's role in the OT/filmmaking career and especially unaware of his "I don't know who that is" comment about Darth Plagius, then yes you're going to be upset and disappointed by how the ST wraps it up. Same way a lot of people couldn't get off their a**es to go watch anything Rian Johnson wrote/directed and then lost their sh*t over how TLJ played out. Who would've guessed that KK hired Rian Johnson to make a Rian Johnson movie in which he outright repeated themes and plot points from his previous movie?!  

It's a the story about 3 generations of a family the same way The Godfather (made by Lucas' mentor, FFC) is. It's more likely that a character in the next movie is going to wake up with a falthier's head on their pillow than there's going to be a deep dive into Force lore and world building. Those will likely be reserved for the novels and comics. However the Emperor fits into the final chapter, it's done with George Lucas' input/blessing and won't be a deep divs into theory. It's going to be "how can we resolve the trauma inflicted on three generations of a family and the people they love b/c of the temptation posed by one man who used them to further his personal power and ambitions?" The Emperor is the biggest devil on the shoulder of the Saga characters as representing ambition/greed for power to enrich oneself versus helping others. That's the central struggle all of the main characters have gone through and it makes complete sense he's reintroduced in some form as the central antagonist.

Related - fans who are invested in the Force lore/world building aspects introduced by the PT (which personally I think is a major problem b/c the characters became subservient to those elements) are really going to piss and moan about how Rey and Ben's relationship is resolved. While their connection is transcendent and has to do with the Force connecting them, it's an emotional one. Which is at the core of the themes which have been at the heart of the Saga. Especially selfless versus selfish love and the inverse of "love can't save you, only my new powers can." I guess I'm a fake fan because as a fan of old movies and soap opera/telenovelas, I love this approach. But you know that there will is going to be the inevitable complaints (remember the Grey Jedi non-controversy unless you're a pendant?) about how "JJ screwed it up like always because he doesn't understand the Force, it should be more than just because somebody loves another person."

* Nevermind plot point predictions, start working on your "Reasons Fans will Complain about JJ" BINGO card for TROS. Because no matter what happens, even the best possible ending, fans are going to b**** about it.
