I know it's not a new theory, but my being new to this causes me to be late to things/mentioning it, yet that one theory circulating around a couple of years ago, maybe it's true - that BB8 was originally Ben's droid, perhaps built by Ben....so maybe he will be in a scene with Rey and Ben/Kylo?

Me too! Was not on my mind at all, and then I found out about the youtube channel Girls with Sabers (originally due to their Kylo Ren's Psychology podcast, which I first found out about courtesy of tumblr clairen45 because she shared it).

I then started listening/watching to their other ones - not in order because I've not yet listened/watched volume 1- lol and their Poe Dameron the Wickham and Gaston of the Galaxy: Vol II of Dark Dameron (https://youtu.be/CTPevQs7uvI) has interesting theories (they uploaded it 7/31/2018, and mentioned this specific theory about BB8 is not new, but ties into all this).

Also the rivalry between Poe & Ben would make so much sense.

I know right! That would be beyond dumb, imo. For me this means that they're keeping the continued Force bond and general Reylo-ness under wraps; looking at these so-called spoilers you'd think Kylo Ren wasn't even a character in IX.

BTW if that report comes from Zeroh, no wonder. BTW a week ago Zeroh actually said that Adam & Daisy will both film a very emotional, heartfelt scene at the end of September and that he heard that their relationship would evolve significantly. Heh. I would love that report in particular to be true...

But Zeroh, is so BS. One day he says one thing, the next he contradicts himself :>

Noted Star Wars expert Mike Zeroh! So does he have an uncle at LF who saw this concept art? One thing about ‘spoilers’ is that they’ve made me realize part of why Rogue One bores me is that it literally reads like the same type of connect the dots throw in a bunch of fan service ideas.

I have to say I was hoping for these planets to pop up in IX, but the rest of the "leak" is beyond lame. Here's hoping it's FAF.

I can fairly presume that this Zero fella is the ruler of FAF?

If it's Zeroh, then forget it. As for Rey spending most of IX with Finn and Rose....I very much doubt it. She'd be playing third wheel to their budding romance!

That's why Rian Johnson split up Finn & Poe in VIII - there was nothing interesting in watching them going together on a mission, and I personally feel it would be the same with Rey & Finn. Their relationship was funny and cute in TFA but I don't see anything really interesting about them interacting in IX. Yes, they should start being together in the resistance/rebellion or whatever they're called now...but a whole movie of their friendship gang? No thanks!

The only way Rey and Finn's dynamic can be interesting at this point is if their friendship is tested by, I don't know, something like a secret connection Rey never told her Resistance buddies about Their relationship in TFA was fun, but even then there was *some* tension because of Finn's lie about his past which you knew would come to light eventually.

I do think that Rey will spend the majority of the first half at least with the Resistance. Probably similar to how she's spent the first half of TLJ with Luke.

I’m also not interested in a “beautiful friendship gang” adventure for IX and while I don’t think that’s what the movie will ultimately be, I do think there will be some of that in the beginning of it. However, I’m sure things will happen as the movie progresses that splits the gang up some and allows Rey to shine and resolve her arc with Kylo.

I just hope that JJ is out of his TFA "you must love love love the new heroes and their *delightful* friendships" mode, and is not afraid to create tensions between the characters that go beyond, Rey is angry at Finn for lying for two seconds or so. His first Star Trek movie had a great mix of personal tensions and delightful interactions.

Yeah I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of Mike Zeroh. Those leaks sound fake too, if Poe/Finn/Rose are off on an adventure then I would expect Rey to be with Kylo during that time. Though I expect they will meet face to face midway through.

yeah, although I think the tension because of Rey's secret "force lover boy" will be more between Poe and her than Finn.
I see Fenn actually trying to reason with both of them. Oh, and I hope to see a friendship developing between Rey & Rose!

I know IX will start with Rey being with the resistance but I hope they part ways sooner than half of the movie. Maybe the first act and after that she can go off...to her supreme leader lover boy

@Night Huntress I know we all want as much Rey/Kylo time as possible, but on the other hand I do think that the brevity of their time together is a big reason for why the dynamic is so compelling. It's like getting cinematic shots of pure undiluted draaaaamaaaaah And it didn't even take *that* much time in TLJ for their relationship to change completely from where it was in TFA. I'm sure that their relationship in Episode IX will be more than, Rey and Kylo meet in the end for the last epic fight, but I think that it will retain the same "less is more" approach.

Yes, I agree- and I wasn't really serious about her going to her space boyfriend in act two already ...but I do hope she goes on a mission on her own pretty soon and maybe that's how she crosses path with Ben in act three? Who knows... I hope we also see more of Ben and his development- maybe slowly hinting at redemption subtly instead of one final turn around in the last minute.

The announcement that they will use unseen TFA footage from Leia makes me wonder if it's for flashbacks.
