I for one have a headcanon of Poe and the 'good guys' finding out about Rey and Kylo's Force skype sessions and not being very happy about it....and Finn having to defend her. Because although I can see Finn eventually 'forgiving' Kylo, I can't see Poe....

Speaking of Leia, this interview with Todd Fisher from a few days back hasn't been posted:

Fisher says he fought hard for director J.J. Abrams and Disney to include his late sister’s iconic character in the upcoming film.

“It is awesome that it worked out this way and, thanks to [director] J.J. Abrams, this is going to be very magical and important to us all,” he says. But fans need not fret – despite rumours her onscreen performance would be pieced together with CGI, Fisher says there’s enough unused footage of the actress filmed around the time of “The Force Awakens” to weave into the upcoming “Star Wars” film.

Though Fisher can’t spill any “Star Wars” secrets, he says the production was able to “bring her into the story in a way as if they filmed it yesterday,” calling it “magical”

“The things that she shot a few years ago are frozen in time, so to speak, and [have] been reborn into the final ‘Star Wars’ where she is the character that needed to continue.”

As the production watched the unused footage and outtakes from the previous films, Fisher says it wasn’t an “easy task” for the filmmakers to make the existing scenes not only work but be part of a good story.

Sounds like they've already edited the footage together in preparation for her scenes, which makes sense as I don't think they would be moving forward with this idea if they weren't 100% certain it would work.

But you forget... “EVERYONE” (by which I mean a dozen or so outraged fanboys with YouTube channels) hates Rose so clearly she’s only being included so she can be killed off. Then Finn (or is it Poe who grew up next to a Force tree) will be revealed to be Force sensitive and hook up with Rey who has been revealed to be Luke and “Mara’s” daughter, kill off the last Solo and make Skywalker babies to continue the saga. Meanwhile in reality; Rey probably starts the film in the company of Finn, Poe and Rose, but then whatever the main plot is (vs. the cold open plot... which I’d buy being something like the Resistance meeting Rotta the Hutt to try and form an alliance) will pull Rey away and into Kylo’s orbit for the rest of the film.

So the anonymous tumblr leaker that @vaderito posted about is back (the one that was saying Adam may have filmed on the weekend):

Little update!: We are still trying to confirm if Adam was filming between 4-6. There has been speculation that John and Kelly was filming the opening scene in the beginning of Aug, we can confirm that timeline is false, however, them filming that day was true and the scenes are somewhere near the middle of the film. Finn is piloting the Falcon with Chewie. Finn, Rose and Chewie are on a mission and we can confirm that Rey is separated from the group at this point - Either alone or with Kylo.

This entire post should be the opening crawl with the final text, Meanwhile in Reality... as the last line. The big questions of how Rey and Kylo are pulled back together again by the Force are what’s going on with their Force Bond (she’s blocked him a la Facebook), when/how does the truth about their relationship and how Snoke died come out, and how long will Hux wait before taking out Kylo.

I have a question for all you fabulously clever SW fans who keep up to date and track IX spoilers - I am wondering if you can give me some clarity around casting news so far.. I'm thinking we've heard about:
1) character code named 'Mara' -

I keep a track of rumours and leaks shared here and there’ve only been posts about these two. I guess ‘That Hashtag Show’ might’ve had another article about the third lead that we didn’t discuss on our forum and my guess is the character played by Richard E. Grant?

I highly doubt that those characters are "leads". The movie is already overflowing with characters who stake a claim at "lead" or "main", so these late-in-the-game newbies are not going to be it. Holdo-level role tops.

Oh yes, ‘lead’ is definitely an exaggeration, all leads have already been established in TFA, but I guess they wanted to indicate that a character has more than one scene and speaks some relatively significant lines lol!

If Keri Russell plays a Knight of Ren/an assassin/an ambiguous Resistance-assosiacted character, Richard E. Grant some First Order officer alligned with or - on the contrary - opposed to Hux and Naomi Ackie Lando’s kid or another new Resistance member, they all likely fall under this category Smile

Because if asks - I am not on tumblr, and I send Asks (as anon) when I am curious about something from a meta writer on tumblr, and quite a few times, they are selected. Why am I not on tumblr? Because to me, it is a place where you create. I wouldn't create anything, just share, so that is why I am not there. I believe nothing until I see it with my own eyes (on screen). Not entirely certain why they chose my inbox as I've never put myself out there as anyone who has any sort of inside information. Probably someone just messing around (though the first anon did end up being right; could have just been a lucky guess).

Also, the account was actually private before I started getting the anons. I took it off private afterward because I was interested in where the "leaks" were coming from lol. It was private before because I was worried about anti hate, pretty much. It should be visible now for people who don't have tumblr. I'm not super comfortable with calling anything I write a meta analysis lol, but I think there are a few things that are tagged as meta (for tagging sake, I guess) on my blog. Most of my anon replies are tagged as ask pacificwanderer, and anything that's meta probably has that tag (mostly for other people who might be looking). "Spoilers" are tagged as EPIX Spoilers. Oh I also have a ridiculous love affair with parentheticals and am foul-mouthed lol so be warned Wink

No problem! It's been a while since I last checked in here, anyway. I imagine we'll have more to work with as the production continues (at least, I hope). And yeah, it would seem so (or they're a great guesser), but I have fun with it and tag appropriately so people who aren't into speculation/spoilers can blacklist it on Tumblr.

Here's hoping Bothan Spy makes another appearance with some goods lol.
