I know people on Twitter are super excited about a possible Rey and Kylo cover. Do you think we will get one?

@Birdwoman I’m cynical after the sh*tshow 2017 issue & expecting that they’ll be pushing Galaxies Edge, the Mandalorian, & the usual “discussing any characters & plot points is a spoiler” bullshit for boosting the ST media coverage

I wish! But probably not. Most likely will be the trio stuff versus Kylo and the First Order. Sigh..

A cover with kylo and Rey would be awesome but Yeah it’s probably just the trio and maybe palpatine? Kylo and the kor will also have a cover I imagine.

I’m trying not to get overly excited in order to avoid potentially massive disappointment, but I think it’s not working - it’s 8 a.m here now, I haven’t been sleeping well for a long time now, but last night I had a dream that Vanity Fair’s cover featured exclusively Rey and Kylo, that it was released overnight here due to a different time zone and that when I woke up, I had 1200 notifications on this forum. Make it prophetic, pleeeaaase!
I’m so well-rested, though, and in such a good mood - the power of good night sleep!

Thanks for sharing AhsokaTano.  
It makes sense the author wishes to create some drama and tease about their next novel and what it could cover..
but I'm not biting..
Cardinal is going to be in black spire novel (and Brendol Hux was his mentor), so it makes sense for Cardinal (or whatever name he will end up going by) to talk about Armitage Hux - now threat in the first order, based on what he learned about him through his close relationship with Armitage's daddy.
(including reference to the ultimate reveal in the Phasma novel). That..

I may be way off but this tease isn't enough to get me interested even with the current drought of new info.

As for the VF cover - a reylo cover would be welcome! but.. If we get a reylo cover it's going to be along the lines of them being on opposite sides.. but hey, I'm open to being surprised!
The VF issue last time was all focused on Luke and Rey and didn't give a true indication of what the story was about looking back soooooo I don't really have high expectations..

Absolutely. Reylo cover basically means Rey and Kylo exclusively, possibly in an ambiguous pose etc. but nothing explicit like the kiss.

Also, according to sleemo, the covers usually drop around 8 a.m ET, which is 1 p.m. GMT, so we might expect it in 4 hours.

Maybe it will be different this time, TLJ was only the second movie of the trilogy.
After episode 8, the audience got answers, Rey's parentage and so many things solved in the movie.
And of course the main thing: The Last Jedi made the romance between Rey and Ben Solo official. Kylo being deeply in love with her is canon now, not a simple, fan-made ship. Their love is basically the heart of the whole thing.
So them being secretively over it makes no sense after episode 8 in my opinion. There's no need to confuse the audience even more since 60% of it hasn't even read the canon novelizations and knows nothing about Ben Solo's childhood...ect.

The highlights and shadows in their faces/bodies also the lighting in the landscape behind them suggests different times of the day. Not exactly sunrise and sunset, but perhaps they can exist in the Same location but at different times of the day? So the development of their Force Bond allows for this ?

I have seen people posting that the sun is setting behind Ben but rising behind Rey...? I'm not sure how you can tell except darker/lighter.

Someone already brought this up so I can't take credit for it but look at the clouds in between their heads? It looks like hands reaching for each other.

Hmm interesting but wouldn’t we expect that anyway because he’s dark and she’s light - so the sun would be rising for Rey and setting for kylo.I guess people are taking it as she is the skywalker rising then because of the sunrise behind her ?If that’s the case and it’s rey? How is this balance ? Balance surely would only be if the two were together ? I like the idea of them existing in same space because of force bond but at different times and that’s why it’s a different time of day for them both ... it looks like Rey is looking at him to be honest but he’s looking in a different direction .
Also is it just me but does his clothes look bluey grey to you ? It definitely looks a lot lighter than the black we had in TLJ .Then again it could be the lighting in the desert .

I like the idea of hands reaching out ...

I keep thinking maybe there’s some hidden aurebesh somewhere . Lol ! It kind of reminds of Rise of Skywalker concept art cover . Two different locations and clashing through the force bond but they aren’t clashing here. Rey looks wistful . Kylo looks like his focus is elsewhere.

they are on the same planet this is clear, same day more or less
it is probable that the two are facing each other
the wind blows right on Kylo. Rey is in front of kylo Ren.

The hidden meaning might be that they’re standing on the same side, facing a common enemy or something. The continuous background that seams together perfectly might just be it.

I think that we’ve gotten so good at searching for small clues and nuances while looking for confirmation of Reylo during the years that we sometimes tend to analyse too much.

The wind might just be wind and the rising/setting sun might just be due to the time the shooting was done during the day.
The only thing that’s certain is that they’ve framed and angled the photos in order to make them look continuous, like they’re standing side by side with no hostility towards each other.

Have we got the first female screenwriter of a Star Wars movie since Leigh Brackett in TESB? If it's true and we'll get a KOTOR movie then I'm super excited.
