@Rei of Sunshine It shows how far Kylo has come by the time that scene happens. Like end of TFA, he is desperate and aggressive and controlling but here he's so genuinely earnest for *presumably* her trust.

It's really great! Also, the two clips (Rey talking to Luke and asking for guidance) and Kylo extending a hand calmly are totally going to be directly related in a foreshadowy type way. As in Rey says "I need someone" and then later Kylo becomes that someone. Right now everybody thinks Luke is going to be Rey's teacher and whatnot but things won't work out that way. It's just such an awesome trailer with such amazing character implications! Also, Rey wants something for herself that doesn't involve a sand planet: to know her place in everything.

@FrolickingFizzgig EXACTLY!!! Definite foreshadowing and I just love how it is coming full circle- he may just end up teaching her, what he wanted from the beginning but with a twist.

It's going to be very similar to Maz's "close your eyes, let it in". "I need someone", that someone just isn't who she thought.

But for real guys don't give other peoples' reactions a second thought. Just think about how many times we've been proven right and they've been proven to have their heads buried in the sand. As others have said the mental gymnastics are just going to get more and more impressive the closer we get to the movie. Even the movie won't change that.

Yep to the mental gymnastics. What I'm seeing so far in the reaction videos is that people are dead set that Kylo is going to blow up Leia for some reason. Even though he has a sad I don't want to do this face and at the end with Rey they keep saying that she's going to go to the dark side instead of thinking that Kylo will be redeemed in some way. Maybe I have Reylo glasses, but it's very different then how we saw it.

I'm talking about different one Kylo/Leia connection, Snoke torturing and testing Rey's powers. This is not in these leaks you've posted. They could be right but also someone other either guessed or knows something.

It's friggin' hilarious reading other forums' reactions; people still treat Kylo/Rey dynamic as a total no-go zone

Interesting, in other forums people keep talking about Ben instead of Kylo Ren. Some are shocked because of the end, some speculate Kylo will turn.

You know what salts me...
The fact that the phrase "a troubling connection" is a thing that pops up in the new trending stories on Kylo/Ben and Rey in the new trailer.

Ok I took a shower & had time for *some* of the giddiness to subside, I found it interesting that there wasn't a Canto Bright scene, no Rose, Hux, Holdo, or DJ. I'm not complaining at all because I loved the Rey, Kylo, Luke focus; just found it interesting. I'm super excited to find out more about LD & BDT's characters.

Some people are still claiming they are cousins. I totally look at my cousins like that.... NOT!

I haven't read the past 10 pages or so yet, but I woke up at night to watch the trailer and felt like:

Negatives: where the heck is Rose? And Finn gets, what, five seconds in this trailer too? That's starting to get really embarrassing now. Poe looks like more of a presence than Finn again, and I'm starting to think that Poe's role really is bigger

But clearly Rose's role is quite big because she, a total newcomer, gets billed before Dern and BDT. So I don't know what to think.

(Speaking of billing, Adam is still first billed after Mark and Carrie. Well, I never.)

Posting this again for good measure because I just watched the trailer again:

The last scene is probably a clever bait (they do that) but still Kylo is what looks like around Force Tree or on some destroyed ship and I bet he's still extending his hand to Rey. Although, the context might be slightly different. Antis can kiss our ... well you know what.

So Unlimited Raw Powah implies that Rey or Kylo or both blow up the hut, not Luke. Perhaps Luke didn't like Kylo's "kill the past" speech to Rey (I assume it's likely said to Rey) but the kids blow up the hut?

One more thing: I'm not concerned with trying to piece together the plot from the trailer. If that was impossible with RO, it's going to be twice, nay, ten times more impossible with TLJ.

But for me, that last scene put any remaining niggling Reylo doubts to sleep.

Of course it's spliced from two different scenes, but the very fact that the trailer is deliberately answering Rey's question with =>=>=>KYLO is enough to make me ahgsdhfjjxhjjxgjhghgjh.

The scene where Kylo really does extend his hand to Rey is likely spoilerific as hell.

His metallic scar hahaha I was scared Rian changed it back. Rey broke a freaking rock. Luke is scared of her power which he also saw with his nephew?  Snoke is looking scary now, thats torture not that headache that Kylo gave Rey. Where's Rose, maybe they want Finnrose to be a surprise for the GA because they gave this Kylo & Rey goodness. It didn't give me semi-evil Luke vibes well maybe in the ending, is there something of between him and Leia. He really doesn't want to help?

It seems as though Luke's fear of what Rey's powahtm could accomplish drives her to seek out or at least accept a different "someone". And Kylo is at least going to start off all "muh killing the past is the only way muh" with Rey, which is cool because they'll have somewhere to go from there. It definitely looks like Kylo is going to be struggling a lot with what to do (duh), but he and Rey may have a secondary mission that is aligned with neither the Resistance nor the First Order by the end if he indeed going to help her find out how she fits into the big picture.

I was wondering the same thing. Even if he isn't a double agent, you know that his heart isn't going to be in doing whatever he's doing there, given that it'll be after whatever transformation happens between him and Rey on Ahch-To.
