Just got home and I'm EXULTANT.

And people *cough* antis/fanboys *cough* try to deny the fact that Rey and Kylo's relationship is the beating heart of the sequel trilogy.

I'm also laughing at all the hoops certain factions of the fandom are jumping to justify this fact.

No. It's a reunited Skywalker family. (Now, sadly, minus Leia.) Rey and Kylo's dynamic will be the most important in the ST. But Rey's most important relationship will be with her father. Why do you think that RJ has said that Luke and Rey's relationship is the "beating heart" of the movie that serves as the dramatic high point of the ST? If this were an epic romance, it would be Rey/Kylo as the "beating heart."

TL:DR it's daddy daughter bonding: the movie. Also Luke saves Rey from drowning and beats up Kylo. It's every bad fan plot had a baby and it's the worst SW movie plot idea.

Wow they finally threw us actual substance. The whole Rey being confuzzled why Kylo would kill his parents was so obvious from the very beginning. They were always meant to connect over their abandonment issues. Rey is going to realize that family is a complicated thing, which can bring love but also heartbreak and pain. And once she FEELS his guilt within him, well that will seal the reylo deal!!

And she will probably realize that even more if it turns out that she has dark origins or if her parents left her on Jakku for questionable reasons.

My husband and I are getting a good laugh over the nudist colony on Ach-to.
Anyway, it is humorous that people want Luke to have a kid so bad that they are ok with him being a complete POS to that child. But these are the same people who got pissed when they thought Luke might be evil. Evil Luke would abandon his kid...messed up Luke would not....

Yep.
And let's not forget she's scarred him, and it actually looks a lot worse than it originally seemed. Both of them bear a grudge at the moment.....but things will change. As Carrie said, Rey is 'forgiving'.

At the moment she has a starry eyed view of what family can be; she's seen the loving Leia and the gruff but kindly Han.

She hasn't seen the Han who avoided his child because he was Force sensitive, or the Leia too busy building the Republic to notice her son had voices in his head - or saw it as 'manifestations of his own darkness' when she did.
