this may just be anakins saber again but all blurry? Also it may just be an unlocked saber and have nothing to do with the film. But if it does...



If this pic is real and if it does reflect the movie, if that's obi wans (and we only see it unlocked after tlj is released)..even if it's not obi wans,  I always felt Anakins saber was not going to remain hers it makes zero narrative sense. Right? Zero. There's a lightsaber twist of some sort coming. Kylo has that saber she's holding there in his possession and she will be given it in tlj by him (calling it lol!, called it 12 months ago) Kylo finds it after killing a clan and sees rey through it. Just like she saw him through anakins

The single player campaign is. The rest I don't think so. The designs are from the movies so they are canon. But multi player battles are not.

Here is a comparison between Obi-wan, Luke and Rey's new ligthsaber...

Obi-wan's lightsaber

The hilt is divided into segments including (from base to top): (1) a power cell at the back, (2) a ribbed rear grip, (3)an activation button area with a safety, (4)handgrip, (5) lens assembly and (6) emitter matrix....so the design is divided into six parts.

Luke's Lightsaber

Rey's lightsaber has an almost identical look to Luke's lightsaber, especially since it lacks features like the ribbed rear grip and safety catch....based on this, I think Rey's new lightsaber is something she makes for herself since lightsaber creation is an essential part of jedi training...and she could have chosen a design that most resembled Luke's lightsaber since she would have easy access to that design (unlike traditional jedi padawans who had a whole library and archive to search for designs).

This schematic obviously does not show all the intricate details of the saber, however there is one key.. the little round button that is NOT on Luke's green saber but is on Obi Wan's, while not definitive we shall have to wait and see.

Luke's lightsaber also has the small button on the other side.....but I'm not sure if it is a safety button or a blade length adjustment button (as found on the legacy lightsaber).

Also the end of Luke's lightsaber is different to the one in bf2

The two sections are the same size on lukes, however obis is smaller and the end is bigger, it's the same on the bf2 image there's also a 4th smaller part that sticks out at the very end of lukes. That's absent on the bf2 saber. It's not Luke's.

They also have not divided the end of anakins saber either on the outline of the saber. They didn't divide the black/silver parts either. Anakins has a third section which is not defined on the image as well.

But the whole blue thing kind of heavily suggests that's not Luke's.

The button on lukes does not seem to be consistent either, is that an official depiction of lukes?

Also that button is not on the official saber toys on lukes saber (it seems), however it appears to be on the official toy sabers for obi wans saber. I can't find any other image than that one where you see the button on lukes

I never said it was Luke's lightsaber, but Rey's own lightsaber built using Luke's lightsaber design...Rey's lightsaber's lens assembly and blade emitter are the only part's that resemble Obi-wans and even Luke's lightsaber had the same design for those parts.

That confirms what many of us thought...and sets up for the Resistance side of the story to likely start with an evacuation from D'Qar. I bet that's how Finn and Rose get thrown together (which, honestly, seems a bit Han-and-Leia-ish, even though we know there won't be a Han-and-Leia style romance in TLJ.)
