Take this with a grain of salt
Main Title and The Attack On D'Qar
Kylo Rens Failure
Luke's Despair
Welcome Back
The Praetorian Guard
Snokes Warning
Chewies New Friends
The Massacre
Big Deal
Journal Of The Whills
Kylo Ren Arrives
Finn And Rose
The Force Tree
Casino Jam
On The Run
The Battle Of Crait
The Eclipse
Snoke Arrives
Leia's Sacrifice
Ben Solo
Return Of The Jedi
Prisoner
The Crash And Finale
Hmm. Some of those are very John Williams- sounding titles. But then the sequencing is a bit off from what we've seen.
For example, Snoke arrives...but from marketing it looks more like the battle is taken to Snoke, not the other way around.
I'm also not sure JW would title something "Ben Solo" point blank...He's done more craftier titles like "The Princess and the Scoundrel" or if he does use the character's name, he'll title it "Rey's Theme", "Anakin's Theme" or like in Indiana Jones "Irina's Theme".
There's also no mention of Rey, but furthermore...nothing even hinting at her involvement. Also, they're not going to use the title "Kylo Ren Arrives" because that was already basically used in TFA soundtrack--- "Kylo Ren Arrives at the Battle".
So yes, I agree with the reddit commenter who says this is fake. A good fake, they did some research on typical JW title styles, but no, it's fake.

Yup. To me, the most interesting part of that thread was the poster who came in later on and said that a family friend actually worked on the soundtrack and mentioned that they "blended Rey's theme with a lot other themes"...

Re: The "Crack" Spoiler Discussion Thread
@Iojovi - I can see crying or being moved over a movie and like I said, I'm an a**hole for getting annoyed by teenage girls weeping over the onscreen death of their crush. But the audience around us was so over the top in their reaction, like a teenbopper concert, that we couldn't help but laugh when that song came on at the end. Because everybody sitting around us was already in up their feeeels. It is funny though, that whole romantic tone for Titanic, you wonder if George Lucas watched that and used it as the inspiration for the love story in the PT. Because it feels equally as over-the-top and melodramatic. IDK, I was more of a moody/cynical kid, so overt romance wasn't something I'd get interested in (or more to the point, I would be too cool for school to let anybody know if I liked it) at that age.
And the movie moment which always makes me cry my eyes out is the ending of The Killing Fields, when Sidney Shamburg and Dith Prahn are reunited withe "Imagine" on the soundtrack, especially because one of my first adult jobs was teaching ESL to refugees from the camps. This clip chokes me up every time.
Back to the ST, can't help but think this motif, regardless of whether it's a direct reference to Tchaikovski's Romeo & Juliet Overture, will make a reappearance in TLJ but under much difference circumstances for the two characters.

@snufkin
You got to see SW in theaters because your older siblings took you, right? Titanic was that movie for me. I was 10 and I went to see it with my 18 year old bro and his girlfriend. I don't know if my parents knew about the nudity beforehand and were too embarrassed to take me or what. And yes, I cried, but not until the very end
That crack playlist doesn't mention Rey or Luke, does it? I think that saying Rey's theme is blended in throughout is an easy way to fix your oops

LOL, I'd bust a gut if the credits rolled and we had a cheesy ballet like "My Heart Will Go On" or "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston.
I'm surprised Disney hasn't tried to force that sort of thing on the franchise, it's in every blockbuster movie. And the Houston power ballad (last time I saw Dolly Parton in concert, she made a comment to the effect of "cha-ching" before playing it) was for a Kasdan movie no less!
I always think of Titanic because I went with a friend who wanted to see it and we were the a**holes who couldn't stop rolling our eyes over the other audience members crying their eyes out over Leonardo di Caprio dying. When that song burst on to the speakers, we both started laughing because it was too much. I'm pretty sure the 13 year old girls sitting next to us thought we were completely heartless.
I was 22 when I saw that movie. I know I'm probably going to bring gear shame to myself here, but I was crying so hard my face was popping blood vessels and I couldn't breathe.
I basically cry at the drop of a hat though, so there is that...
Titanic was the first "grown-up" film my mother took me to see at the theater. I was 6 years old and it completely blew me away. I was captivated and fell in love with film. I just remember leaving the theater on a high. Very intense film for a 6 year old lol. Still love that movie. No shame in crying. Some movies just know how to pull at your heartstrings.

@Cowgirlsamurai - it was! And that's hilarious your brother had to take you along on his date. Or very smart on the part of your parents having you there as a tiny chaperone. Which was some of those movie going experiences. Come to think of it, weren't there rumors that George Lucas wanted Leo for the PT but he declined? Likely he'd had enough of that from being in Romeo and Juliet and then Titanic.

Leo was their preferred choice and he turned it down.
Why DiCaprio turned down the chance to play Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars prequels
Were you in talks to play Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels?
I did have a meeting with George Lucas about that as well, yes.
What happened?
Same scenario (laughs).
He wanted you, but you didn’t fancy it?
Um, right. Exactly.
Why?
Again, just didn’t feel ready to take that dive. At that point.
But yeah, as much as I eye rolled over Titanic, the PT love story and its dialogue are a million times more cringe worthy. Or even compared to watching something from the Golden Age, because Lucas was influenced by the movies he grew up with, you might have really corny dialogue. But it's nowhere close to how the love story in the PT makes you feel like you're watching a B movie on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Or at least the bromance part is more convincing and God knows that's more credit to Ewan McGregor than George Lucas.

Actually, the person who said that Rey's theme was blended was a different poster (and claimed a different source) from the OP.
We speculated here a long time ago that Rey's theme would be blended with Kylo's at the very least, so that particular detail really jumped out at me.

Ahh, I see. I don't doubt that they would do that with the music, but to have none of these tracks with Rey or Luke's names in them seems like a red flag... especially since they're the "beating heart" of the film. I'd fully expect a "Luke and Rey on Ach-To" kind of theme

What is interesting about how The Abduction blends their two themes together is that it segways into another piece which blends together Leia's theme and the love theme for her and Han. Which Kylo is the ultimate result of, not to mention how the visual shot of that scene shows the ship departing with him and Rey together and then to Leia's ship landing for her reunion with Han. Also if you wanna feel really old, it's Madonna's 59th birthday today.

Exactly! Actually, the "blended themes" guy said the tracklisting was fake. He said that he'd been given a few track names (e.g. "Poe's Dilemma") and did not see any of those on the (fake) list.

Even when we do get the true soundtrack listings, we may not be able to take much away from it anyway. There was a RFR Oxygen podcast where they talk about how LF seemed to have spoiler proofed the TFA sountrack: 'The Abduction' was revealed in the track's meta data to be 'The Abduction of Rey'; 'Torn Apart' was actually 'Father and Son'; 'The Ways of the Force' was 'Rey vs Ren'.
http://www.rebelforceradio.com/shows/2016/1/14/star-wars-oxygen-vol-26-the-force-awakens-part-2
(Discussion about how Lf might have spoiler proofed the track listings starts around 6:00)

Re: The "Crack" Spoiler Discussion Thread
If the actual name of the track Williams composed is called Father and Son, that's interesting because like we know from JJ's DVD commentary, Kasdan wrote that scene with his son.
In terms of their themes being blended and the likely made up track list, if they keep with the mirroring/parallels between characters, if there's something with Rose and Finn together, then there'd have to be something with Rey and another character. Maybe Luke, but I'd be guessing not based on what they've already flat out stated so far that he's an unfriendly, depressed grumpy hermit who wants her to get off of his lawn. And obviously I'm still pulling that there's going to be something (which they're keeping far far away from any of the promo material other than the book shot in the trailer) about The First JediIkea Temple, which entrails an unlikely alliance for Rey in order to tackle that challenge. If they mentioned in the VF article how it took MH 90 minutes to get up the steps at Skellig despite being in good physical condition because he's not a spring chicken, Rey's going to have to go on that adventure with somebody else, isn't she?

I saw Titanic in like 7th/8th grade, I distinctly remember because it was the first time I got to see a movie with a big group of friends by ourselves. The movie was okay, but I was OBSESSED with the soundtrack for such a long time afterwards (yes even Celine Dion's warbling) I listened to that tape over and over again.

Not a fan of the song, but Titanic IMO is as close to pefectly executed melodrama as it can get. I love that movie.

Not much, in truth - he said that there's a lot of mixing motifs (i.e. the melody of Rey's Theme is subtly blended into a lot of other themes) and that the last track is sublime (it's currently under the working title "Reunion"). He also said that the orchestra had been pushed for time with TFA but that they'd had more time to get the TLJ soundtrack sounding "crisp and clear".
If anyone has a specific question, I can ask him when I next see him but again, I don't feel comfortable asking him to prove himself. He'd probably refuse anyway as he loves what he does and wouldn't want to put his career on the line.
And this was posted in response:
Hmmmmmmm....I can cautiously believe this. It's hard to gauge authenticity completely blind obviously, but hey, I would definitely be interested in more info. I'm starved for absolutely anything on the music so it's good speculation fodder if nothing else!
If you'd be willing to ask and report back more, whatever you could get out of your friend about the texture of the score would be the most interesting to me. Any music that he might be able to compare it to. Just curious about the overall approach to the score since Rian Johnson himself has such eclectic musical tastes and was always interested in experimental methods with Nathan Johnson. Wonder if any of that filtered into what Rian wanted from John Williams for Last Jedi (like how the prequels had some odd synths, percussion etc) or does it keep to "traditional" Star Wars more like TFA? How would your friend describe what he's heard in a sentence or two?
Or maybe any confirmation or hints on what he knows about new themes....I've been really wondering what will anchor this score since so many story elements carry over from TFA. My speculation ranges from themes for Rose, the Praetorian Guards, Luke/Rey's relationship, maybe something new for Snoke, perhaps a special battle theme a la "Duel of the Fates" or "Battle of the Heroes"? Just don't know what to expect.
Plus anything on returning themes? Rey's Theme seems like a given as you say...I would probably be most curious about if Jedi Steps and March of the Resistance return. Love Poe's theme too. And I think we'd all love to know if he's heard "Luke & Leia" or "Yoda's Theme", if that's something he would have been exposed to.
I did see this forum post on the JWFan.com where a seemingly legit poster named "azahid" claimed to have some info. Maybe if your friend could confirm, deny, elaborate on any of this?
Two jazz percussionists named Alex Neciosup Acuna and Paulinho da Costa were present for recording, presumably for casino music
The casino tracks are "crazier and zanier than the Cantina Band cues for sure!"
There are supposedly waltzes in the score
Of course I don't expect you to bombard your friend with all this but whatever you could pick and choose from my ramblings that you think he might know, I would definitely like to see a post from you on here sometime!

Re: The "Crack" Spoiler Discussion Thread
Posted on reddit, dunno, so I am going to post this in crack thread, but sad.
There are a few "forcebacks" in TLJ, longer than the ones in TFA. First happens to Rey. She sees herself saying goodbye to who we assume is her father, and going onto a ship with her mom. You don't really see anything of note of the mom, the man that you think is her dad is wearing a rebel pilot uniform like Luke wore on Hoth or in Star Wars. She sees a stone hallway with a young boy standing at the end of it, crying. The hallways explodes as the Knights of Ren destroy it, sounds of murder, the same boy crying continues and some echoed screams behind. Kylo Ren comes into the scene in his TFA getup. Briefly see snoke in the flesh.
The next two I don't know if they're really forcebacks but one is from Luke. He's meditating at one point in the film and he's on tattooine hearing the words of Obi-Wan giving the "twisted and evil" speech. He sees the funeral where he burnt his father, construction of the temple with Leia holding a baby, a few "happy" moments with a young ben, then the attack on his temple. Old luke is shown visibly discomforted but continues his meditation. You see a younger Luke angry, seeing the rubble of the temple. He sets fire to it himself. He gives something to R2 before leaving, we see an x wing fly towards ach-to, then a somewhat younger luke (still old but looks younger than hamill in pics so far) walking up the steps like rey did.
The final flashback or forceback is from Kylo. He's in his private quarters similar to TFA talking to vaders helmet. You see himself with Han as a young boy, sitting in the copilot seat of the falcon. Han has a couple lines though you don't see his face, just ben looking up towards the pilot seat. "Don't tell your mother" Han's only line when he motions for ben to try piloting. You then hear Han's line from TFA "Come back, we miss you" as it shows Han touching kylo's face after he's impaled. It ends there, then kylo crushes his helmet.

I saw that!
The OP also said that Snoke exists in this movie more for Kylo's arc and that his background will remain largely unknown.
I really hope he has something to "leak" on Kylo's arc!
The leaker doesn't think Rey is Luke's daughter

The "leaker" about Kylo:
he begins a redemption arc. maybe redemption isn't the right word. For most of the movie he is out to prove himself but he turns on snoke and kills a couple of the red guards when he finds out snoke is directly targetting leia toward end of film. he and rey have a lightsaber fight in the first half of the movie which he wins.

Do you think the leak's legit? The leaker seems to be online so might be able to get them to answer some questions
