I'm actually hoping this is true so that AD is guaranteed to show up at Celebration with the luscious Kylo flow.


But seriously though, I wouldn't worry about this interfering with our Orlando fun. Celebration is only a few days, and it doesn't say when in April actual filming starts. "Pre-production starts in April" could mean anything, and doesn't necessarily mean A-list talent on site from the get-go.

Didn't the Rogue One crew just finish or were about to begin  shooting the reshoots by the time the London celebration took place?Rian was also there and he had a little bit left to shoot with KMT if I remeber correctly so I don't think there's anything to worry about.

The first time I saw that scene it went over my head. I would say because I was thinking maybe she is related to Luke because everyone is related to each other in the OT. Anyway, after watching TFA numerous times I feel they are pretty clear that she is not a Skywalker or Solo. So I agree with Daisy. They were clear but unfortunately not clear enough....I think some people will need to be told directly 'Rey, you are not my kid or my sister's kid....'

As a fan of both the Criterion Collection and the Scholastic Young Adult reader series, I agree! Ha, actually if the rumors about the Force plot pan out, you can bet that there will be a YA tie-in novel with this exact blurb about the two of them having to work together to survive.

As much as I'm not really a fan of YA (Twilight, Hunger Games, Fault in Our Stars, Divergent, City of Boned, Fallen etc.) this is the genre that's really popular this generation so it's understandable that LF would lean towards a really marketable storyline.
Back in 70s and 80s it was all about the science fiction and family drama, and the OT has been an iconic example of that era. 
Both movies go for their audiences. They don't stick to the same old storyline in a way. Sure they have familiar details to connect both OT and ST, but it's gonna be a different wild ride for these two. This is how sagas and epics progress, they develop different stories, not stick to one already predictable outcome.

Old fans who don't want Reylo to happen because they don't like it are ignorant of this. They want a safe cozy story like how their inner child wants to go back to their childhood room with their blankies and toys. But the nursery room doesn't belong to them anymore.

They're either ignorant or dismissive (see how often Tumblr or Twilight gets referenced in snark). But you're right, YA is is a big deal. Both financially and culturally, including how writers/creators have a relationship with their fans. JK Rowling is the mother of this, both as a writer and as a very savvy business woman. I sort of know a little about it via a friend who worked for a long time in YA publishing at Penguin (she's freelance now, but her group works with authors who include John Green). But enough to recognize that the same thing is happening here. Not just to appeal to younger and female fans, but also to position Star Wars as becoming part of that larger environment. So I was sort of joking by posting the blurb for that YA novel, but you can bet that there will be something YA published for the characters of the ST. Just like how they've had Claudia Grey start writing in-universe novels and what's essentially the prequel to TFA.

I was convinced after the movie but more I think about it it's a bit too easy and Kylo being the last of Skywalkers offers something new. The need to redeem him, so their line can continue.

Oh. Rey as a Skywalker just sounds too easy. JJ already said Kylo was our Skywalker in TFA, Luke in Episode VIII even tho people are expecting Rey to be it. That twist with Kylo had to be redeemed so Han's death wasn't for nothing, he still didn't gave up on his son. The way he touched his face was telling. Kylo may hated him but he loved him. One of the reasons besides Reylo is that Han's death should be for something and Kylo to be pulled back to light.

I think she is a Kenobi. Does Luke know it? I imagine he does, hence the look on his face (not sure why, was he supposed to protect her?). Also I am sure he also felt her Force awakening and also knew she was coming to Ach-to before she got there.

The Kenobi theory, like I've said before there's something which ties the two characters with the different Easter Eggs and the closing shot. So there's something going on, especially in the Force vision. It may be her grandfather as a parallel for her main antagonist/foil. But who knows? Maybe Obi-Wan had some very nice cousins who managed to be FS and stay under the radar. Maybe she's descended from a family friend or very nice neighbor he always liked. Or maybe being Disney, he's just her version of a fairy godfather. But there's something going on there, even if it's just a tip of the hat to that character and linking her as being his spiritual successor.

@Gemini - meaning when she kicks him and then they wrestle over the saber? That plus Han stroking his face is probably the first in a really long time for him. Certainly not getting any "attaboy!" back slaps from the Supreme Leader.

Someone knows to inform me if there is forecast of SW 8 to leave before December 2017 ... Today I saw this news in a site from here of Brazil.

I would be surprised if they release it early. I think they want the big holiday box office cash...

Movie release dates have already been shuffled around by Disney to maximise impact, hence why they're putting the Han Solo movie out in May and not up against Avatar 2 in December. I highly doubt any change to Episode VIII's release date. Why would they when they've been dominating that slot? If a rival company wants to go up against them that's their problem because I can't think of any other franchise that could compete up against Star Wars at this point.

Several German online news are saying that we'll get a VIII teaser in January. Pretty sure it's based on speculation, but they did give me a hard time holding back my fangirl squeals. I can't believe the next episode is just about a year away.
