I'm hoping for a title reveal soon. I'm thinking they should announce that first, and space it out a bit from the teaser release.

If the title for 8 doesn't get announced on social media, then perhaps it'll happen by interview or at a convention/fan event.

Two debunkings, because David Tennant > Matt Smith. Good on her, can imagine Reddit et all are tying themselves up in knots over how it's a misdirect or that it still doesn't prove that she's not Luke's kid.

I appreciate Daisy and Felicity's frustration with this question and its persistence. It's not as if it's their fault people think they look similar and wonder if there's a connection.

But LF agreeing to this kind of thing is...a little blasé, considering their issues with diverse casting - especially women of color. They do not have to keep casting white brunette women with British accents. That's the main reason the Rey Erso theory existed, and it's also a big factor in people theorizing that Rey could be a Skywalker - she looks like she could be related to Padme and Leia. In the wake of Emilia Clarke casting news, it actually strikes me as rather insensitive to the legitimate concerns about representation. Again, I'm talking about LF in general and not Felicity herself.

I've got to agree. I don't blame Felicity for it, I doubt she scripted any of this herself, and the idea of a debunking PSA is hilarious in itself (Lord, let there be one for Reywalker) - but I thought the passive-aggressive and sarcastic tone was unnecessary. The debunking could have been done in a much more neutral and playful tone, IMO.

I'm not sure the passive-agressiveness came from her though.She looked much more playful and joking about the whole thing in another interview where they asked her if she was related to some of the characters so maybe she was told to act in a certain way since the whole thing was deffinatly scripted.

I'm just waiting for them to cast Charlotte Riley, the only other actor who has a real resemblance to Ridley IMO (just with a bigger nose and more prominent cheek bones; frankly I was shocked when they compared her to Natalie Portman or even Keira Knightley):

...her parents were actually revealed in TFA, with a lot of journalists all repeating the same sentence without taking the time to analyze it...


...and completely missing the most important part of the interview:
"I'd love to see the look on people's faces  but with answers come more questions and there's going definitely to be enough to keep people going for another two years"
1: "I'd would love to see the look on people's faces" ==> when they discover that she's not who they thought she is

2. "But with answers come more questions" ==> if she's not who they thought she is, then who is she?

3. "There's going definitely to be enough to keep peope going for another two years" ==> Rey's (full) parentage/origins will be actually revealed only in Episode IX

@rimfaxe96 oh lord, can you imagine if they do this again? Please LF. We get it, you have a thing for british brunettes. Although she was great in Wuthering Heights. The other actress I can think of is Jenna Coleman. It's all getting a bit Attack of the Clones.

Oh,yeah deffinatly especially when they just cast another British brunette in the Han Solo movie when they had plenty of POC actresses to choose from so LF it's really your fault for casting white British actresses and creating the Mystery box that is Rey's parenatge which ended up overshadowing everything else about her character  so instead of being passive agressive maybe you should try and be devirsive for real.

I just went and lurked on a reddit thread discussing her PSA. There are still people who think she is lying....though I am trying to figure out story wise how some people believe that Jyn and Luke are Rey's parents?

But then, people accused John of lying too, so... not surprised.

I'd be curious to know what they think is to be gained from lying, though. At this stage, right before RO, shouldn't they encourage speculation instead of debunking it? Why piss off fans of the Skymom theory before the film is even out unless it is to prevent them from being disappointed?

I hope this is a sign that they're starting to deconstruct the mystery box more heavy-handedly where necessary. In some ways, it has backfired big time, IMO.

On a personal note, I wouldn't trade Daisy for any other actress, but - while I love Felicity and I'm sure (hope) LF selected her because she was the best actress for the job - it's incredibly frustrating to see only white brunettes being cast as the main heroines, especially when 1) the male characters are totally diverse and 2) everyone jumps on that damn mystery box and assume she's Rey's mum. Padme, I understand because she had to resemble Leia, and Daisy is so brilliant that I wouldn't want anyone else to play Rey, but come on LF it's getting old now. I would've loved to have seen Lupita Nyong'o play Jyn, or heck I want her to play a future SW movie heroine! And I'm glad they'll be another non-white brunette heroine in the future regardless aka Kelly Marie Tran. Again, this is just my personal opinion.

People thinking Rey is a skywalker? How....?

Does anyone else see kylo check her out in the forest of takodana? Does anyone else see him check her body out in the interregation scene when she's talking about the droid. Disney would never add that if they were related.

Ever notice how both JJ and Christopher Nolan always have their female leads be that same type, of young, white, brunette, pretty, and slightly smart mouthed? It's like Hitchcock's blondes. Always wondered if it started for the both of them with Princess Leia. So in a way, having JJ direct TFA didn't help matters.  

LOL'd over the Charlotte Riley mention because I've thought she'd be somebody who could turn up as Rey's actual mother.

Also wasn't there a press interview for TFA where somebody persisted in asking Oscar Isaac if Poe was related to Bail Organa? Which he shut that down pretty quickly with a comment about how just because the actors playing those characters are of the same general ethnicity doesn't mean that they're related.

And yes, there are still people persisting in the belief that Rey is a relative. Just go browse the comments on iO9. And in general, people can be egotistical enough to continue to believe something is the truth long after it's been debunked and publicly stated as not true. The "JJ lied about Khan" argument that always gets thrown around. It doesn't prove that Rey is related to Luke. It just proves that he wrote a story that was far too easy for people to figure out before the movie ever got released.

Lawlss Daisy's reaction is such a diss to people who are still going nuts over who her parents are. I think that's why she likes reylo ppl, at least we saw the movie we were supposed to see XD

Yes, people insist she is still a Skywalker.  I think it is a combo of the 'everyone is related to everyone in Star Wars' and maybe people not understanding performing arts/Film?  I sang in a production of 'The Flying Dutchman' this fall.  I had friend ask me if when I was listening to Senta sing her aria, was I supposed to look that interested in the story of the Dutchman?  I told her that everything she sees on stage is there on purpose.  Where we stand, how we look at each other ect.  It is all blocked that way by the director.

I saw how he checked her out the second time I saw the show and realized then that they were not related. First of JJ would not make a mistake like that if it was not intentional.
