Right? I don't think I've cried tears over a celebrity until today. I've been invested in this fandom for over a year now, and I've always felt that Carrie was one of us - like she had our back. And it's not just that - from her interviews to just how she is as a person, I feel like I can relate to her. She's real and honest and is NEVER afraid to say what's on her mind. She literally has no fear whatsoever.

Please please Carrie be okay....

A year ago, chap behind us in the pub collapsed and stopped breathing (heart attack). Two people did CPR for ten minutes till the paramedics turned up, then they worked on him for over an hour with a pumping machine and defribillator. He wasn't breathing for much of that time. Eventually they got him breathing again and took him off in an ambulance.

Six weeks later, we were in the same pub, and he tapped me on the shoulder. He was fine. They said he'd been lucky that people had done CPR for those ten minutes - otherwise he'd have been dead.

It sounds as if there were people on the plane who knew what to do. I hope it was in time.

I just thought about her little dog Gary too. This is too much...

I'm just stunned.  I really don't know what to say.  I hope she's all right.

Oh, Gary They've been inseparable. But Billie will take good care of him, no matter what happens, I'm sure of that.

But there's hope yet. She's a fighter, she is!

@iojovi me too, I don't often cry over celebrities but I am today. I really hope Carrie pulls through.

I'm so sad right now, poor Carrie, she doesn't deserve this.

I've been trained in administering CPR (I work for the NHS - British healthcare) and they do say that it needs to be started as soon as possible - but if it's done properly and consistently the person does have a chance. Fingers and toes crossed.

Carrie's writing has been a great source of strength for me in some difficult times. She's an inspiration for many of us who struggle with addiction and mental health issues. I'm thinking of her family and hoping she makes it through, what frightening news. We love you Carrie.

I do remember hearing on the radio the news on Sir Alec Guinness passing - I felt like I lost somebody familiar.

Please, Force, don't take her!

Honestly I hope this gossip site is wrong. 15 minutes is way too long and the odds of a full recovery would be very slim.

This is HORRIBLE! 2016 is the year of a trip to Hell itself! I hope she is alright but that long with no oxygen is not a good sign even if they found a pulse. The poor woman. I pray for her! She was my idol!

The only thing I can read is that they actually got the pulse. And that's good thing.

I really hate to say it as well but without going into too much detail 15 minutes of CPR is pretty full on to say the least, and she will take a while to recover, there's no two ways about it.

I'm sure she has the best healthcare possible though which is a small comfort.

This is making me think of my grandfather who sadly passed away from a heart attack, but that was because no one was around to perform CPR on him in time.

Carrie is different, she has a chance. I have everything crossed for her.

Terrible news

While I wish we could get some hint of an update, I'm thinking it's possible she's in surgery right now, and we won't know more until tomorrow.

This really sucks.

Thank god they weren't still over the Atlantic when it happened.
The news from her brother sounds hopeful.

Carrie's brother's update sounds positive. Hopefully, we get some more good news over the next day or two.
