Black Diamond/TrIXie: Episode IX Title Speculation

Going by the T-R-A formula (since the PT was TAR and OT was ART), maybe titles could be....

Honestly I just want IX to be Leia and Rey go Thelma and Louise in the MF.

OVERTHINKING CAP WORKED REALLY FAST

(well, it was Google but anyways)

As a real, natural diamond, these stones share all of the same meanings and symbolism as traditional white diamonds, such as strength, wisdom, eternity, and everlasting love. Italians in medieval times believed that black diamonds wielded the power to restore the relationship of a married couple, and the Black Orlov diamond had a reputation for bestowing happiness and good fortune on anyone who touched it.

I guess we can start by just researching the symbolism behind black diamonds. Ah, overanalyzing for two more years.

Yes, I've thought of that, too, i.e. how Reylo, plus Kylo dying, could give Rey a happy ending.  First, Luke's father died in front of him at the end of ROTJ, and no one questioned that Luke got his happy ending.  Of course, Luke had Leia, but Rey has Finn and now Poe.  Second, I hate to be sexist, but men sometimes have a different understanding of "romance."  It often includes death.  See Romeo and Juliet, Titanic, Rebecca, etc. So even fully developed Reylo might not guarantee Kylo surviving Episode IX.

Let me pretend to be serious about my speculation for a moment:

CLEARLY this title represents that Kylo and Rey are going to have their relationship restored.

And clearly it also means that Kylo as a black diamond will end up no less strong, wise, and in love as Rey's white diamond.

Gee! I hope that the kyber crystal will have an importance ultimately. That was already on my bingo for TLJ and I was disappointed thatthe movie didn't explore the Force plot more

Yes, we did. Space bear = Panda = Yin/Yang.

When I read Black Diamond, I had to think of Kylo....and of the second SATC film.

Let's keep in mind that Snoke had a black kyber crystal. I wonder whether it was meant to have some importance or not.

Daisy also felt more close to JJ than Rian, they started this whole thing. I get your point but Kylo could get sidelined as the result, like he did in TFA.

As the only surviving Skywalker in the Skywalker saga there's absolutely no way Kylo is getting sidelined in IX. If anything he's going to have the biggest role alongside Rey once again because even Luke is gone (he'll appear as a Force Ghost, but TLJ was his movie, IX won't be). Kylo was created by JJ and Kathleen Kennedy and they'll finish his arc the way they intended to.

The major ideas going into this saga were:

1) A young female Force user's journey to finding her place in the galaxy
2) A young male Skywalker villain's journey from rebellious youth to fully realized adulthood
3) The Force as a romantic/sexual awakening for both the female Force user and the male Skywalker

A "black diamond" can also mean a highly challenging ski run.

As far as Snoke's black kyber crystal ring, I can't say that I even noticed it in TLJ. It certainly didn't serve any sort of plot point.
